Ran into performance challenges with too many @wp_acf repeater rows (easily over 1,000 rows a post), fortunately the ACF Database Tables plug-in from @hookturn_io was pushing the data into a separate DB tableso I ended up directly querying & updating via $wpdb. All worked great!

@hookturn_io’s simple json encoding of repeaters in columns in DB tables made it easy to search and update them. I remember how excited I was that their plug-in was getting repeater support, and here’s yet another use case of why it’s amazing for large sets of custom field data

ICYMI, #WordPress dot org has forcibly taken control of our Advanced Custom Fields (@wp_acf) plugin and renamed it without our consent. We are committed to further developing the ACF plugin through our website, ensuring users receive new features and maintenance updates. 😎

As a dev for almost twenty years. I’m shocked at the outrageous situation that @wpengine finds themselves in. It sucks. But I feel as though I’m in the majority of WP web devs that will be continuing to back and support @wp_acf. We’re with you all.

Today was migrations, resolving API errors, and adding humorous dummy content Easter eggs as blurred out text for non-subscribers.

It’s one thing to see content in a simple list, it’s another to be able to visualise it in the context of a world. The advantage of being both a designer & developer is the ability to think out of the box and actually be able to take it from concept to reality. Excited for this

Mobile responsiveness pretty much all sorted now for my upcoming #dnd #dnd5e website. Needless to say pretty thrilled with how it’s coming along. Every day or two I have an idea of another lil feature to add. Looking forward to sharing more with you, but here’s a little tease…

Building a #dnd website feat.an expansive library of content, both homebrew & a lot that builds off what’s pre-existing, but rather than rehashing what everyone else does, there’s some very unique elements and features. Plus one of the most gorgeous UIs I’ve made!

When working with what I expect will be quite large WP CPT content, you really want to get the interplay between CPTs right, so extremely happy with how simple and versatile @wp_acf has made bi-directional fields. Lexicon enriches lore, lore becomes examples for lexicon. 👌🏼 easy!

2nd client using the Media Workbench platform means shows off its sweet features on my side. My screen has 4 columns, 1st shows a list of all active workbenches, 2nd is all currently active requests, so 1 per workbench, 3rd has all request in for review, 4th is the latest updates

Had a client jump onto our Media Workbench subscription system yesterday and commented that they were blown away by how easy the interface was to make requests and manage their priorities. They couldn’t believe I had built it all. UX design should always make it easier for users.

Over the last 4 months I’ve done the design, print & digital media, website & social media for our local Carols by Candlelight. Created a quality design with consistent comms going out. The result was the biggest turn out ever. It even sold out. 5200+ attendees! Proud & thrilled!

Nothing is more satisfying than writing on a theory you have, to then stumble across someone who shared a similar theory and coming to the same conclusions. #writingabook

WordPress is truly priceless when you compare it with other softwares like Webflow or anything else. 🙂 You own your site if you build it with WordPress. You can host it anywhere you want. Which for me is a major plus point.

There’s a difference between being an expert and having expertise. You may not be prepared to call yourself an expert. But if you’ve applied yourself to a creative field, developed your skills, become more efficient — you have expertise. And that will only grow over time.
