If you think students should be borrowing money to enter careers that have no hope of helping them pay off the loans—- then YOU are the problem. Most college degrees are worthless.

This is AMAZING NEWS!! The Department of Education will start tying federal student loan eligibility to graduate earning outcomes. Under the rule: > undergrad programs must out-earn high school graduates and > graduate programs must out-earn undergraduate programs This is going dismantle many BS predatory college programs. A would be win for the future of American students!
BREAKING: President Trump is banning students majoring in degrees that don’t make enough money from taking out college loan, per the New Republic

"And when competition dies, you pay more." Now let me tell you about my single payer healthcare plan...
Shop at any of these grocery stores? Kroger Fred Meyer Ralphs Food for Less Mariano’s Smith’s Harris Teeter Seems like a lot of competition—except that every one is owned by Kroger. Now Kroger is trying to buy another: Giant Eagle. And when competition dies, you pay more.

Yet another reason to hate Dook.
This is genuinely awful. Duke is putting Edward Jones’ logo on the court at Cameron Indoor Stadium and calling the relationship “financial education.” It’s a four-year commercial sponsorship that includes wealth-management category exclusivity, branding, custom content featuring athletes, and financial-education workshops. Call it what it is, paid marketing and reputation laundering for a financial firm with a less-than-stellar reputation and a business model that includes non-fiduciary brokerage advice, hefty commissions on questionable products, front-end sales loads, and other conflicted forms of compensation. #PersonalFinance #FinancialLiteracy #Finance

One of the great paradoxes of working with insurance companies-- Money going to them = incredibly easy Your money coming back to you = act of Congress

Continuing on the news about @Altruist from yesterday... Manish Khatta had a great quote for advisors: "Nobody gives a (beep) about you. Go raise assets & focus on your own business." The longer I'm in this business, the more I see the truth in this statement. Your custodian doesn't care about you. Your platform doesn't care about you. Your "strategic" partnerships---they don't either. Everyone is working on their OWN goals. If you fit in that, great. If you don't fit...well, you can exit stage left. This is the reality.

In other news... it seems a giant (Vanguard) has once again purchased a competitor (Altruist) Hope the Altruist advisory teams are ready to compete with Vanguard's dial-an-advisor for their own clients.
