Argentina did their best to kick us off the pitch in 66 when we beat them 1-0. Nothing changes and i am so glad Spain beat them. Any other result would have been a travesty. Rodri superb & cuccagna outstanding .
Charitable status for the CSF
The Cycle Speedway Federation interim trustees are delighted to announce that the CSF has been granted Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) status by the Charity Commission. This marks a major step forward for the sport, in our 80th year.
Happy 100th birthday!
My mum Kath celebrated her 100th birthday this week. We had a lovely family and friends party to celebrate her amazing achievement. Here's to more birthdays!

Along with a colleague, I was delighted to represent the Astley & Tyldesley Cycling Club at the King's Garden Party at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.
It was a most enjoyable occasion and great to see both the club and the sport of cycle speedway receiving Royal recognition.

I was proud and honoured to be one of the members of Astley & Tyldesley Cycling Club who attended the official King's Award for Voluntary Service presentation at Gorton Monastery, Manchester.
I was devastated to learn that my great friend and club colleague, Steve Harris, had died suddenly last week. He was truly a legend of cycle speedway. RIP Steve.

Born in Chorlton-Cum-Hardy, 21st February 1880, Jack Fitchett. Originally signed from Bolton Wanderers in 1902, he didn’t play a first team game before leaving for Southampton. Re-signed in 1903 he then joined Plymouth later that year and was re-signed again in 1904, but left for good in 1906. Over his three stints with United, he played 18 games scoring once.
