Not issuing any predictions, but a lot of factors that set up well for a potential flip:
1) National Climate
2) Hurricane Helene
3) Loss of incumbency advantage (plus *how* it was lost)
4) Very short runway for Balkcom to campaign/raise funds
I know this district decently for a FL Man (family there for generations).
1. As @GraysonForNC said, Ager is perfect candidate
2. NC 11 today isn’t the NC 11 of even 5-6 years ago - it’s one of few CD that got better for Dems from 20->24 largely due to population migration
Exclusive: I’m told President Donald Trump will return to North Carolina next Tuesday for a rally, as he works to drum up support for candidates including Michael Whatley and Laurie Buckhout. Details on @ABC11_WTVD:

Storm damage and power outages in Clayton after heavy rain and winds hit the Triangle Sunday @ABC11_WTVD
There's obviously a delicate balance between short-term goals + long-term aspirations but Brunson is 30. KAT is 30. Bridges is 30. Hart is 31. OG is 29. The window is now. Positioning yourself to win a championship with this core should take priority over possible $ crunch later
Hall says in other states, typically 80-90% of savings from gas tax suspension is passed onto consumer. @GasBuddyGuy tells me that’s accurate. Still, important to stress that if oil barrel prices increase, the impact is mitigated. But NC *should* see lower prices in coming days
@GasBuddyGuy adds the average station buys fuel every two to four days. So when a station last refilled and how often they refill will determine when prices are impacted. Urban areas likely will see effects sooner than rural areas due to higher volume
#NCGA Special Session is expected to last one day. A source familiar with the matter tells me a vote will be on suspending North Carolina’s gas tax, part of an effort to address fuel costs @ABC11_WTVD
BREAKING: The House will hold a special session Wednesday, October 7th at noon. At this time, legislation/details remain limited, though #NCGA lawmakers have publicly discussed addressing the gas tax @ABC11_WTVD

A spokesperson for @NC_Governor @JoshStein_ responds to calls for a special session:
BREAKING: A staffer for Rep. Nasif Majeed tells me he has "signed the Joint legislative proclamation to convene the General Assembly in an extra session to consider legislation necessary to provide North Carolinians with state tax relief on gas and diesel fuel." @ABC11_WTVD

Reconvening lawmakers for the special session expected this week requires 3/5 majorities, which means House GOP will need signatures from at least one current or former Democrat. Rep. Carla Cunningham, asked if she'll sign, said "No comment." #ncga #ncpol pro.stateaffairs.com/nc/news…
Jaxson Dart missed zero games in three years at Ole Miss. This isn't a serious discussion that anybody should be having
How do I mute the entire hot take culture already talking about the Giants finding Jaxson Dart’s replacement this offseason?
He is not injury prone. Missed two games last year for a concussion. Contact knee injury where he’s sandwiched between two defenders this season.
Completely unrelated injuries. Yesterday’s wasn’t due to a reckless style of play.
Dart is the guy for the Giants. Any other talk is silly. At the very least, it’s inappropriate for today.
Prior to a rally in North Carolina Wednesday night, I spoke one-on-one with President Trump, where he discussed the war in Iran:
Iran's parliament speaker said Sunday that Tehran will not allow the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz until all of its conditions have been met.

There's a reason why so many former students - myself included - look forward to speaking in @kaufsports class at @univmiami every year. It's because outside her excellent work as a journalist, she's an incredibly kind and thoughtful person. What a terrible loss for Miami
The @MiamiHerald eliminated 30 positions today including excellent City of Miami beat reporter @tessriski & legend @kaufsports.
The Miami Beach beat reporter was open but won’t be filled.
Is the Miami Herald going to cover the City of Miami anymore?
Local journalism matters.
To be fair, there were three zeroes on the clock last night and that apparently was not clear and obvious, so control of a ball as a player's foot is out of bounds does not meet that standard.
This isn’t even a judgement call like pass interference or a late hit where you can disagree with the call but acknowledge there’s latitude involved. The clock is literally at 0. There’s nothing to interpret!
This should be a lifetime memory for a bunch of kids who likely will never play football on a bigger stage than this, and instead Western Michigan was absolutely robbed with no coherent explanation
College football is supposed to be fun and silly, and it’s so draining the level of (unfortunately necessary) attention court cases and legal challenges have taken up the last few years
