As #healthcare providers, let's remember that patients are more than just a list of symptoms or a diagnosis. Instilling #empathy in our #patient interactions will make a significant impact on their #care. Here are 4 best practices that I use and share with my trainees:
Never look at your watch: It's important to give them our absolute #attention and make them feel heard.
Never call a patient by their first name unless they are personal friends of yours: #Patients should be addressed with respect & dignity. If a patient specifically requests to be addressed by their first name, then honor that request.

Despite an alarming increase in #cancer rates, #precisionmedicine is taking care to the next level by optimizing tumor response, preserving organ’s functions & patient's quality of life. I'm hopeful to see how precision medicine keeps progressing & revolutionizing #cancercare.
