Jared Goff applauded the way Penei Sewell spent the offseason shifting to left tackle.
“I think we take it for extreme granted that he was able to go over there and nothing really changed,” the Lions quarterback said on Tuesday.
Sewell moved from right tackle to left tackle after Taylor Decker left the Lions.
“Left is the premier position in football, and I think he loves that pressure and loves being the guy at the point of attack,” Goff added.

Awesome that Joe Thomas stopped by the Lions facility this training camp.

"We were fortunate to have him come through the building," said Sewell. "Really grateful for the time that he spent with us."

National NFL coverage is extremely hard and very few do it well. That’s why I mostly rely on regional coverage.
But I have to say the fellas at the athletic football show podcast do phenomenal work. Their NFC North preview is excellent. Go listen to it.

Over the last month, Jameson Williams has provided evidence that his game is about to go to a special place.
Just two years ago, many doubted he'd reach his ceiling here.
But Dan Campbell never stopped believing.

Well, got one thing right with my 53 projection with the team keeping Meeks. He showed a lot of that grit the Lions talk about by converting to tight end, putting in the work during the offseason and earning the job.

Still in awe of how good the Lions' OL was yesterday.
Very few MAs, and chemistry looked in mid-season form.
I think a lot of guys along that front (Cochran, Bartch, Miller, Frasier, Sorsdal) may have landed themselves a job in Detroit or elsewhere.

I find it low-key ridiculous that some NFL teams play their final preseason game tonight and have several days to make their cuts, while the Lions, Colts, Bears, and Titans will have about 24 hours after their preseason game to make cuts.

Just a lot of encouraging execution throughout this first half. The blocking, in particular, has been excellent, which has led to a lot of successful third-down pass plays.
