Prop Firm Match is facing a major crisis after allegations of cookie stuffing / forced affiliate redirects. A trader showed that clicking a firm profile or “copy code” button on the site would open the normal page in a new tab while the original tab was silently sent through PFM’s affiliate link effectively setting their cookie without the user intentionally choosing an affiliate link. PFM later admitted “When someone clicked on a firm or a code on our site, a new tab would open the firm’s site through our affiliate link. This should not have happened. We take full responsibility.” As a result, a large number of firms (reports of 12–21+) terminated their partnerships within about 24 hours, including Apex, Lucid Trading, FundingPips, Tradeify, Goat Funded Trader, Blue Guardian, Alpha Capital, FXIFY, Vest, and others. Most cited reviews of cookie/referral practices and breaches of affiliate terms. Core reason: Affiliate commissions are supposed to go only to partners who genuinely introduced the trader.
