I totally agree with this. When a windstorm hit my neighborhood, a former tree contractor moved me to the front of the line because he knew I always paid as soon as I got the electronic invoice.
🎯 I pay every invoice the day it comes in—not net 30, not on Friday, but that day. And anybody who tells me that’s bad cash management has never had the best guy in town pick up on the first ring. Here’s what nobody tells you about paying slowly: You think you’re being smart by floating your money, but what you’re actually doing is training the best people in your life to answer somebody else’s call. Every plumber, every lawyer, and every good contractor has a short list of clients they’ll drop everything for. The people on that list are the ones who never made them chase a check. So when it’s Sunday, something happens to your pipes, and you need the one guy who’s actually good, you’re either on that list or you’re leaving a voicemail. I’d rather lose 30 days of float than lose that phone call. Pay fast, man. It’s the cheapest loyalty you’ll ever buy. — Nick Ayala

An ugly incident towards an official in last nights OHSAA District soccer game between New Philadelphia and Steubenville. We have reached out to the OHSAA Director of Officials who does not have an update at this time. 🎥 Contributed

SCOOP: Democrats have insisted they have nothing to do with the other Dan Sullivan on Alaska's Senate ballot. But aides with the Mary Peltola campaign and DSCC were part of a monthslong secret plan to recruit him to run -- as well as other candidates. nytimes.com/2026/10/28/us/po…

Democrats once again are trying to hit a bankshot in the Senate race. They did a version of this in 2024 when they warned Bernie Moreno was "too conservative for Ohio" as it looked like more moderate Matt Dolan might overtake him in the primary. cleveland.com/news/2024/03/o…

Looks like both parties in this election are trying to siphon off voters to third-party candidates who stand no chance.

Noah Wyle says Eddie Murphy told him to “fuck off” when he asked for an autograph at 9. “I met Eddie Murphy once when I was a kid. I asked him for his autograph, and I said, ‘I really like you on SNL.’ He goes, ‘What are you doing up that late?’ And I said, ‘Can I have your autograph?’ He goes, ‘Fuck off, man.’” “I was 9. Now I always sign an autograph whenever a 9-year-old needs one. I sign that so fast.” Years later, his daughter turned the story into a birthday gift. “I’ve told this story in my house, and last year for my birthday, my 10-year-old daughter didn’t know what to get me. So she printed up a picture of Eddie Murphy and wrote, ‘Dear Noah, you’re a great kid, Eddie Murphy.’ She spelled Eddie E-d-d-y, and I have it framed in my office.” “She came up with the story. She’s like, ‘Dad, you’re never gonna believe who I saw yesterday. Eddie Murphy. And we got what you’ve always wanted, his autograph.’ Then they gave me the gifts. She’s a doll. She’s the best.”

Crazy that this entire election season in northwest Ohio hasn’t featured any debates.

I have Grok Bot that logs every negative comment someone makes about me online. It then creates a profile of the person, maps all of their social connections, and finds their home address. Tomorrow morning, my Grok Bot will send their whole ward over with a plate of cookies, quietly add their names to the temple prayer roll, and have the missionaries drop by to deliver a copy of The Book of Mormon.

Remember early 2025, when government workers lost their shit over having to email five things they accomplished the previous week? I think about that a lot. You should too.

@sharonwaxman Hi Sharon, me again. Just checking because I know how much scoops matter to you, and how you're a stickler for sourcing... We broke this story this morning: thedesk.net/2026/10/scripps-… But again, no mention of it in yours? thewrap.com/media-platforms/…

This is the full memo from CEO Adam Symson about today's layoffs at the E. W. Scripps Company, as first reported by @thedeskdotnet earlier (or, as another publication, the "wildfire" that "spread across the Internet," because sourcing is apparently hard). $SSP
