EU Freedom of Movement is NOT an unconditional right under EU law: it is conditional on finding a job or being self-sufficient i.e. not being a burden on taxpayers. Otherwise they have no right to stay.

One of the most beautiful books ever written, looking forward to listening to this.
Today on @bookclubpodhq Tabitha and I explore a truly beautiful novel, J. L. Carr's A MONTH IN THE COUNTRY.
The memory of the Great War, the English countryside, art, love, loss - this is such a moving book. Everybody should read it.

Basically this is nuts.
GPs train for medical school, postgraduate education, further exams, then ongoing forever learning. We learn how to distinguish between common causes and rare ones. It is ferociously hard. This sort of nonsense degrades expertise and safety: :
We've all been there. You wake up feeling unwell, try to get an appointment, and before you know it half the day has disappeared.
When you're sick, the last thing you should be worrying about is how you're going to get the help you need.
That's why we're expanding Pharmacy First. The idea is simple:
Qualified pharmacists can assess patients, dispense medicines and prescribe treatment for a range of common conditions, helping people get care quickly and close to home. So you don’t have to go to hospital, and you don’t need to book a GP appointment. Just walk into your local pharmacy and get the treatment you need right there, right then.
These services make a huge difference, especially for older people and those who are vulnerable.
That's why we invested a further £340 million in community pharmacies, including to deliver Pharmacy First.
Six million consultations have been delivered since the launch of the scheme.
GPs and NHS 111 have referred three million people to their local pharmacy.
And pharmacists have provided more than three million urgent medicine supplies.
We’re making it possible for qualified prescribing pharmacists to treat five more common health conditions this autumn, like migraines and ear infections, so access to treatment is easier than ever. And what we’re announcing today will make it easier to see a GP for those who need it.
I know how hard our NHS works, how much pressure staff are under and how tough it can be for people to access the care they need from my time as Health Secretary. And I know things have only got tougher in the last 15 years.
As Mayor of Greater Manchester, I saw firsthand how important it is to put more firepower in the frontlines and give people more control over their own lives.
Every place and every person matters. So we’ll make sure people can get the care they need, where they need it. That’s what this is all about.
Faster treatment. More services. Better care for patients. And less pressure on hospitals and GPs.
One less headache for people to worry about.

Nobody is being "foisted" on the people of Holborn - they will get to choose their next MP
You don't have to be born in this country to be British - see Boris Johnson, Mo Farah, Freddie Mercury etc etc
We can all see *exactly* what you're doing here

Replying to @Dominic2306
I know you inherited your place in life Dom but for many of us, working hard and going to university is our only chance at making our lives better. Alas not everyone has the luxury of having privilege repeatedly mistaken for genius.

Do you want to hazard a guess at what this “jaw-dropping” list of freebies included?
What luxuries asylum seekers might be being given “for free” in Thetford?
Xboxes? Plasma TVs? iPhones? Ferraris?
Let's take a look👀

The most meaningful reviews are the ones that come completely unsolicited. This wonderful review came from a writer I’d never met, who chose my book as her Indie Book of the Week. Independent, honest reactions like this mean so much to authors like me ❤️

Finally, some proper scrutiny of Reform UK Ltd. Excellent interview by @bbcnickrobinson on @BBCr4today just now. It feels ten years too late, but thank you for robustly pointing how deeply part of the establishment, Farage, Yusuf, Tice et al are.
Nice to see facts aren’t getting in the way of Holden’s rage bait posts. It’s been age 16 since 1987, under Thatcher, and the lessons are funded by the Motorbility Foundation charity…
Labour's broken benefits system is now letting 16-year-olds start driving a year early but only if they are on PIP
And only if they’ve also got a taxpayer funded car paid via motability
And they can also get up to 40 hours of taxpayer-funded driving lessons worth around £2,000

The end of an era - After almost a century we said goodbye this morning to our great companion of the airwaves Radio 4 198 LW. I shall miss her warmth and crackle. Here’s the final sign off at the end of #theshippingforecast before she fell silent… ❤️ – at London, England
Nightjars!! Fun evening out looking for Nightjars with @JohnPLeeds and Jessica, we saw several, heard a few more and had the added bonus of Woodcock overhead and a Long-eared owlet peeping on the woodland edge. Plenty of churring in the video :)

It was inevitable, wasn't it🙄
Of course the Telegraph would run with something like this👇
So let's remove some of the rose-tinted spectacles and also look at some of that data comparing 1976 with modern heat waves
Because the 1976 nostalgia porn is wearing a bit thin at this stage
