The player wage bills of League One clubs for the 2026/27 season. 💰⚽
Leicester City are reportedly spending a staggering £35 MILLION a year on player wages, almost FOUR TIMES as much as the next highest spenders, Luton Town (£9.6m).
At the other end of the scale, Bromley are estimated to spend just £2.88m annually.
The financial gap between clubs in the same division is absolutely enormous. 🤯

🚨 Gateshead FC is now in real danger of facing winding-up proceedings
⏳ I understand HMRC have set a deadline of Wednesday (Nov 4) for progress before formal demands will be made. That would give the club 7 days to clear outstanding PAYE & VAT
🇺🇸 Flacks Group (an American private investment group) are ready to proceed with a takeover but need Shoreline Limited (fronted by Viktor Anichebe and who previously attempted to buy the club) to sign a waiver over money they claim they are owed by former club shareholders
🤝 This would clear the way for Flacks to complete their takeover of Gateshead, with Shoreline then able to pursue those shareholders separately
⚽ I understand Shoreline are currently in talks with the IFR to purchase League One Bromley
💰 Gateshead's players have not been paid & the club currently owes £200k to creditors
👀 Flacks' plans for Gateshead sound exciting & ambitious, with high-profile staff ready to come in

Andy Woodman leaves Bromley. If that is purely based upon results, and is more the club's call than his, it makes Woodman the most emphatic victim of your own success I can think of in English football. Extraordinary overachievement.
