“”The health of our players is always in the forefront of our minds,” though apparently not this time. Come on Nick.
Huh? He passed twice to stop the clock.
Nick Sirianni on whether he could have done something differently on offense so Elliott's FG was with no time left: "You would like to have it with 3 seconds left. You know, in that situation they used their timeouts. We ran the ball at the end. We ran the ball at the end. ...You'd love to pick up a first down there and be able to call a timeout and grandfather timeout, meaning call it at about five seconds. They stopped us there, and we weren't able to do that.
In that situation, them holding onto their timeouts helped them to get that last play, but it should have never came to that.
"...you don't want to lose too many yards there. It's still a long field goal. Yeah, that could be something that you could do, but when you do that, Jeff, you typically -- because there's going to be push on the inside, you're probably going to lose 2, 3, 4 yards in that situation when you do that, and that wasn't in our thought process at that particular time because of the being able to lose yards."
Sirianni taking the blame isn’t worth two cents when you consider he’s supposed to have the expertise NOT to put his team in such awful situations in the first place.
And why should it matter that Scheffler and Burns are best friends, so keep pairing them. Why?

I don't care what any pundit says, "The Wire" is the greatest television show of all time -- and its not particularly close.
My fave Wire characters, in this order: Bunk, Omar, Bodie, Slim Charles, Wee Bay. (Honorable mention: Kima, Brother Mouzone, Bubs).
You’re reducing character development to how much a person changes over the course of a show.
The Wire did something even more challenging: it could introduce someone and, through their habits, quirks, and choices, make you feel the life they’d lived before you met them. That’s why it doesn’t need a prequel. The characters carry their backstories in everything they do
Best tv show ever written. I’m still blown away by Marlo’s (Jamie Hector) cold blooded viciousness.
A mini reunion of THE WIRE last night as we gathered at the premiere of WAR, the new HBO series starring Dominic West and Sienna Miller @hbomax 25 years and counting….
