October is Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month.
In 2006, at 17, I suddenly went into cardiac arrest. I survived because a volunteer EMT started CPR.
I wrote A Big Heart to tell that story and what came next.

Grateful to @AndreDrummond for partnering with @In_A_Heartbeat_ at his All Stars Camp. We brought EKG screenings, CPR & AED education to young athletes. Thank you, Andre, for believing in our mission—and to our @QuinnipiacU volunteers for making it possible.

I had returned to @QuinnipiacU to deliver the commencement address for the School of Health Sciences. It was one of the most meaningful moments of my life. Congrats to the c/o 2026. Your impact will be felt in ways you may never see but patients like me will never forget.

Amazing News:

I was in DC in March 2023 to support this bill when it was first introduced. I am beyond ecstatic that it was signed unanimously and will provide a grant for schools to increase their access to AEDs and bystander CPR training. @DefibtechLLC @OneShotFndtn @In_A_Heartbeat_
The U.S. Senate has passed the HEARTS Act of 2024! This critical legislation will save lives by ensuring public schools have cardiac emergency response plans, trained staff, students and sports volunteers in CPR, and campuses equipped with AEDs. 💕 #HEARTSAct #CPR #AccessToAEDs
