Six years ago, I went to a job interview at Tesla. There were over 500 applicants, and the process started with a group interview alongside 4-5 other candidates. I made it through the first two rounds of cuts, but then I was let go.
After being cut, a manager pulled me aside and gave me advice that stuck with me. He said, “You have the desire, the knowledge, and the effort to do this job. But the problem is, you have no industry experience, and you’re competing against people with 20+ years in the field.”
That moment hit hard, but I took it to heart and used it as fuel to grow. Since then, I’ve been an 88M (Motor Transport Operator) in the Army National Guard, worked at a dealership, gained experience in sales, pulled a Tesla out of a junkyard and restored it, and enrolled as a student at Universal Technical Institute.
Recently, I applied for an internship at Tesla. After going through two interviews, they came back with unexpected news: “We’d rather start you as a permanent employee than a temporary intern.” Even more incredible, the person who gave me that advice six years ago remembered me and recognized how far I’d come.
Today, I’m proud to say I’m officially working at Tesla. This journey has taught me that hard work, persistence, and a willingness to learn really do pay off—even if it takes years.
To anyone chasing a dream, keep pushing. The time and effort you put in can lead to opportunities when you least expect them.
Day 13 of not being able to add a debit card!
Well status has changed. I am now able to add a debt card. Based on what happened it looks like there was a 30 day hold on it (I was able to add another card exactly 30 days after the last card I successfully added). I don’t know why support wouldn’t tell me and it is honestly pathetic that they try to hide behind “security”.
Still looking at the possibility of forcing them to disclose that information.
Day 12 of not being able to add a debit card to X Money.
Original error: “too many cards.”
I removed the old/expired cards.
Next error: “too many attempts to add card.”
Still blocked. Instant deposits were a main reason I moved everything here.
Support’s response:
“We also cannot override the result from Support.”

ACH has been taking longer than advertised, the $1.99 third-party option is expensive for how I use it, and walking to a store to add cash defeats the point. This was supposed to make things easier, not more complicated.
Still no resolution after 12 days. Looking for someone who can actually clear the “too many attempts” lock so I can add a card again.

Day ten without being able to add a card to X money.
That being said it is going down for maintenance. Maybe they will fix their mistake?
Although I don’t know how you fix ignoring a customer…
Day 7 of not not being able to load money to my X money account and I finally got a response from support and it is stupid.
So here is what happened, I got X money and decided to consolidate accounts. I added my Cash App, pay pal, and Venmo account to transfer the balances. I then added my primary bank debit card and my Robinhood debt cards. I then closed the Cash App, pay pal and Venmo accounts and without realizing it my bank debt cards went and expired. My Robinhood card expires in a month.
Essentially they are telling me I lose the ability to instant transfer money because cards expire!
Further more no one seems to know what this mysterious “set amount of time” is. How can a company be this incompetent?

wtf if going on? In the past month:
1. Dog got sick and had to go to urgent care and stay for a few days and is still there
2. Two tires got cracked from road damage
3. Some lady passed out and ran into on a scooter in Walmart
4. Car door broke
5. While door dashing just now someone rear ended my car….

What is going on today! I am about ready to go lock myself in the closet for the rest of the day. I am door dashing today and so far:
1. A lady was going in to McDonalds to get food and left an infant (not even a year old) in a car seat in the back of the car crying. (Yes I did report it and an officer did file a report and confront her about it, she was inside for 45 minutes and her excuse was “I just needed a break from his crying and dog mode was on”) This is the one that really pisses me off.
2. I watched a lady smack a Taco Bell employee over a taco that apparently had no meat (I saw no food in the encounter)
3. Saw two dogs get hit by a car
4. Watched someone try to carjack someone at a supercharger (owner left door open and walked to the trash can to throw stuff away and some guy tried to run up, jump in and drive off… only to discover the car won’t drive while plugged in and run away… ok this was actually funny but still)
What is going on?
I discovered something today. An undisclosed transaction fee applied AFTER the transaction posted and one of my X Money accounts went overdrawn. I had other accounts (buckets) with $69. A few cents locked all of it.
Imagine a single mom using this as her only account. Saturday night. Baby needs formula. Card declines. She opens the app: $1,500 sitting there. Primary is −$0.03 from a fee she never saw. She can’t cover it from the account that still has money. Support says live help isn’t available until Monday.
That’s not banking. That’s a product that wasn’t finished.
The rule is the problem, not the customer:
• one account can go negative
• no way to cover it from another account you already funded
• some buckets can’t take a normal deposit
• the card can settle against the wrong bucket
• the lock lasts until a human shows up on a business day
If you market 6% APY and a Visa card as “your money,” a 3-cent fee cannot freeze grocery money until Monday.
When an account goes negative and another account under the same owner has funds, don’t freeze everything and don’t silently sweep it.
Open a prompt:
“Account X is short $0.03. Transfer $0.03 from [Account Y] to cover it?”
Yes / pick a different account / not now.
If they tap yes, unlock immediately. If they can’t deposit to that bucket, the prompt is the deposit.
Also: show the fee before it posts, and which account it hits.
This isn’t an “if” scenario. If it is not fixed, it is a “when” scenario. Using X Money can be deadly.

When at a supercharger and you find this a**hole, is it ok to mess with their car to teach them a lesson? (I would have sympathy but there are spots open all over and they chose to park in a supercharger spot and walk off for at least two hours.)

My life has been a wild ride…the first 20 years were defined by addiction, recklessness and wasted potential…but as I arrive at 38, I’m blown away at how I made the most of the last 15 years.
I got sober. I fell in love with my best friend. I chased my dreams and became a musician with sixty number 1’s. I met the President. I retired my Mom. I got my Dad his dream car. I moved my sister and my brother-in-law to America. The list goes on and on.
I think the greatest gift I was ever given was the opportunity to be the man God intended I be…and it never would have been possible without the love of my live, my incredible family, my amazing friends and all of YOU.
Thank you so much for the birthday wishes…and thank you for being one of the main reasons I have something to celebrate.

“Zero good reasons to have them” is doing a lot of work in that sentence.
You had a warrant. Cool. Then say what the warrant was for. Guns and cash showing up in a search does not automatically mean the owner had no right to them. “I don’t think you needed those” is not a charge.
If this keeps showing up and it looks like they’re taking legally owned stuff then flexing about it, don’t just yell in the replies. Log it.
