We are scene investigating a serious motor vehicle accident where a 12 year old boy on a bicycle was struck from behind by a vehicle. Welches Point Rd between Midwood and Long Island View is closed.

UPDATE: We are investigating an untimely death that occurred in the parking lot of 1365 Boston Post Rd. The incident appears to be isolated with no threat to the public. It is an ongoing investigation in coordination with the OCME. No further details at this time.

The Milford Police Department is currently conducting an investigation in the Walmart parking lot located at 1365 Boston Post Road. There is no threat to the public. No further information is available at this time. More information will be released when possible. Thank you.

At approximately 0815hrs, officers notified Milford Public Schools of a potential threat to elementary schools which was received via email. It has been determined that this threat was a hoax, originating from overseas. MPD will continue its presence at Milford Schools today.

North Broad St. Will be closed between River St and High St. this evening from approximately 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM for the DMBA Night Market. South Broad St. will remain open.

Merwin Ave is back open to normal traffic.

Merwin Ave just south of Oxford Rd will be closed between Lilac Ln and Rock Ln for a motor vehicle accident. Please avoid the area.

North St has been cleared and is open to normal traffic again.

North St will be closed just north of Eisenhower Park between Kozlowski Rd and Woodruff Rd due to some downed trees and power lines. Please avoid the area. The detour will be Woodruff Rd right on to Orange Ave and right on to Kozlowski Rd.

South Broad St will be closed from Lafayette St to Factory Ln. until approximately 4:00 PM for the Fair on the Half Shell.

Milford Police along with other agencies are on scene behind 311 Old Gate Lane regarding a fire at a homeless encampment. One person was pronounced deceased on scene. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when it becomes available.

The Milford Police Marine/SCUBA unit will be conducting a dive training exercise in the area of Woodmont Beach. Please remember to stay at least 100 feet away from a dive flag.

Boston Post Rd (Rt 1) is back open in the area of West River St.

Boston Post Rd (Rt 1) is currently blocked for west bound traffic at West River St due to a traffic accident. Please seek alternate routes to avoid the area.
