Foreign polygamous and incestuous Aunt-Nephew and Uncle-Niece marriages should not be recognised by Britain’s welfare system.
@Conservatives closed Polygamy loopholes for Universal Credit and we want them shut off for welfare across the board. Taxpayers in Britain should not be supporting marriages which would be illegal in the UK.
Tomorrow, backed by @KemiBadenoch, my Bill would end welfare recognition of polygamous marriages and explicitly exclude incestuous marriages.
Over to you, @UKLabour @andyburnham. Back the Bill. This really shouldn’t be difficult.
Not all cultures are equal and we should not be paying to recognise those which are explicitly illegal if practiced in the UK.

Exclusive:
Kemi Badenoch is expected to announce plans to cut inheritance tax as one of the centrepieces of her speech at Conservative Party conference
The Tory leader has said that she believes inheritance taxes are “immoral” and that they particularly hit middle-class families
Currently inheritance tax of 40 per cent is levied on all estates with property worth more than £500,000, with a couple able to combine their allowances to pass on up to £1 million to their children
It is currently levied on just under 5 per cent of estates but that is expected to rise to one in ten by 2030, with the amount raised increasing to £15bn by 2030 from £8.5bn last year
Senior Tories said that Badenoch was not expected to announce the outright abolition of inheritance tax, because to do so would be too expensive
Badenoch’s “golden rule”, which states that half of all savings made by a Conservative government would have to be put into reducing the deficit, means that she would need to find £22bn worth of savings if it were abolished entirely
She is instead expected to either cut the 40 per cent rate or increase the threshold at which the tax kicks in, which would cost significantly less. The tax cut is expected to partly be funded by slashing the welfare bill

Will Kemi Badenoch announce plans to scrap or cut inheritance tax at Tory conference?
@MillardClothier first reported that it was under consideration last month
We pressed her about it ahead of Tory conference and she didn't quite rule it out
The formulation she used was that it will only be announced when she has found the money to pay for it
She said she isn't going to repeat last year when there was a 'big surprise' - she announced plans to abolish stamp duty
But she made clear she believes they are immoral and unfair
Q: Inheritance tax - is that going to be announced in your speech?
A: 'I have said we are looking at it. Until we find the money, I'm not making any announcements
'I've already said we are looking at inheritance taxes, but I have also said I'm not doing the thing last year where there was a big surprise. When we're ready we'll announce. Until then I don't want to speculate on any kind of policy
'What I want readers to know is that the most important thing right now is fiscal credibility and fiscal responsibility
'So I'm not doing tax cuts until I can show that we're being fiscally credible and fiscally responsible. When we know exactly where the money is coming from, we'll talk about it. But they should know my principle is that inheritance taxes are unfair.
'The richest don't pay them. It is just the middle class, mainly farmers who I've spoken to, including people who are literally committing suicide so that their children don't have to pay it. I mean, that's immoral.'
Labour conference all down hill from here!
It was another lively start to Labour party conference at Goodison Park this morning, with the Lobby beating the UK Parliamentary Football Club 2-0 in their annual showdown.
Goals came from @MillardClothier of the Mail on Sunday and @TomSheldrickITV.
We love this conference tradition, and it’s a privilege to help organise it alongside @FootballAssoc.
Both teams had extra reason to bring their best, with football legend @reid6peter watching from the sidelines, and the incredibly important cause behind it all this year, @alzheimerssoc.
