Dolly Parton says she doesn’t regret not having children:
“I haven’t missed it like I thought I might. When you’re a young couple, you think you’re going to have kids, but it just wasn’t one of those burning things for me. I had my career and my music and I was travelling. If I’d had kids, I’d have stayed home with them, I’m sure, and worried myself to death about them. With everything that’s going on, I’d hate to be bringing a child into this world right now.”

We expose the fallacy of the 2021 film "Birthgap – Childless World" and its scapegoating of #childless people, and its baseless fearmongering around an imagined #population collapse due to declining #fertility birthgapfacts.org/

Barbie: a #childfree icon? With all the buzz around @barbiethemovie, check out this article which explores how the creator of #Barbie intended her to be a representation of womanhood that isn't focused on marriage or children ⤵️
hadassahmagazine.org/2023/06…

ALT Background: a still from the Barbie movie (with Margot Robbie). Foreground: a quote from the article which states: ”By the early 1960s, Mattel was flooded with fan mail from girls asking for Barbie to marry her perpetual boyfriend, Ken, and have a baby. Handler refused, not wanting to reinforce the idea that young girls should aspire only to marriage and motherhood. Despite donning numerous wedding gowns, Barbie has never walked down the aisle. Instead of a baby, in 1964, Handler gave Barbie a kid sister, Skipper.”

Today I was told that maybe I'd understand the world more if I was actually a mother.
Motherhood may be an incredible thing, but please can we stop making it the only female life experience that has value?

If someone asks “do you want kids?” and you say “no”, remember you don’t have to justify your decision or preface it with “Oh, but I love children!”. A simple “no, I’m childfree” is enough. If someone assumes you hate kids that’s their problem, not yours 💕

"I feel completely fulfilled without children of my own. I love my nephews and children of friends...And I love all the time I have to myself. I don’t feel like anything is missing from my life."
