Apple has opened a Siri AI developer preview in the iOS and macOS 27.3 betas, built on App Intents. App Store submissions reportedly open spring 2027. Siri can only act in your app after you expose the action.

the practical test is whether people can see and stop what an agent does today. approvals, logs and an undo button are where “in control” turns into a feature.
People should always be in control of the future.
OpenAI is against the notion that it would be acceptable for people to be relegated to a role of doing things that “AI systems think makes sense to reward in humans”.
People should not cede control of the future to superintelligence, and that requirement should ultimately constrain AI progress.

mistral large 4 is in public preview at $1.36 per million input tokens and $4.18 per million output tokens. it is a mixture of experts model with about 1 trillion parameters, 52 billion active per request, and mistral says the weights follow by the end of October.
a million tokens is roughly 750,000 words, so casual use costs very little. the bill shows up when an agent runs all day.
the announcement does not name the licence, so check what you are allowed to do with the weights before building on them.
