Showing up to GIVE rather than get…and we got the WIN! Performance is simple, never easy. Pulling same rope in same direction. LBS is trained. @StateLong

I still remember this All-Star Game in 1998!
Roberto Alomar had such an effortlessly beautiful swing throughout his career. I’ll never forget those three years he spent in a Baltimore Orioles uniform, and I’m so grateful I had the chance to watch him play in person a few times.
Fun fact: he’s the only Oriole ever to record a stolen base in an All-Star Game!

I get to teach hitting this weekend in front of eager coaches and players who just want to learn more about not just the SKILL but also the MENTALITY behind being great at the plate.
Pinch me. 🤏

Neuro/mental: increasing subconscious input within performance. Micro perception IS an advantage and a game changer.
What you say to a player in the 30 seconds after a strikeout determines what they do the next at-bat. Most coaches blow it.
Save the mechanical note for BP. Right now, give them something they can actually use: "Watch the spin earlier. First movement out of the hand."

MLB hitter's full signal attack angle data pre and post season.
Left side: February
Right Side: September (more green, this is good)
It's really common to lose bat speed throughout the season, but huge to see the attack angle in a better place - Both getting into and staying in ideal ranges for a longer period of time.
Example of an in season adjustment that can set you up to make big progress throughout the offseason.
