And the conspiracy corner: harvest now, decrypt later. If your encrypted data is being stored today, how long does it stay private?

The European Road Championships start today in Slovenia, and the elite road races finish in Šenčur this weekend: the women on Saturday, the men on Sunday.
Podium predictions are open on the Oasis Challenge Hub. It is free, there is no wallet involved, and picks close when each race starts.

Frontier models may not be the default for long.
The future could be routing each request to the right model instead. Would you trust a cheaper model for most tasks?

New on Sapphire: UPUPS, an upgrade standard for contracts holding sensitive data.
Built on @OpenZeppelin's UUPS, with changes to account for what a simulated call can do when storage is private.

The Vuelta starts today, which means somewhere out there a man who has never ridden more than nine kilometres is about to explain gearing to his entire family.
Be that man, but with receipts. Vuelta predictions are open on the Challenge Hub, every pick earns a ticket, and there's a Canyon waiting at the end of the season for whoever calls it best.

1/ Decoded: why a private swap can't be front-run
Front-running gets discussed like somebody is cheating, but nobody is cheating.
You published the exact trade you were about to make, the size of it, and how much slippage you'd tolerate, and then acted betrayed when a stranger did something useful with that information.
That isn't a hack., that's actually reading your PIN out loud in a bank queue and blaming the acoustics.

"Web3 is dead. All we have left is DeFi and DePIN."
I discuss this with @matejanez & @markowifk
Kyle Samani is not saying crypto is finished. He's saying the label lost its meaning.
Decentralized gaming never landed. Decentralized social never landed.
But here's the miss: institutional DeFi can't run on transparent ledgers, and DePIN can't handle real workloads without confidential execution.

Congratulations to @carrotfunding on their successful migration to Hyperliquid!🔥
1/We're excited to announce that CarrotFunding now runs on @HyperliquidX.
Every challenge and every funded account, on the deepest on chain order book in crypto.
Better fills. More markets. Always open and transparent.

Privacy usually costs the user something: an extra step, a worse interface, a bridge, a wait.
Here it costs nothing. Same taps, no public trace.
Private DeFi only wins when private is also the easy path.
Data misuse: the new norm or can we still do something about it?
New Privacy Talks episode dropping soon w. @matejanez & @markowifk
In the latest Privacy Talks episode we talked about the new Apple AI features. @markowifk doesn't trust an agent to have access to everything on his phone
Do you?
Should you? 🤔

Reminder: there is no attestation for a good weekend. You just have to go and have one.
Logging off. See you when the tan lines prove it.

1/ Your wallet address is a permanent, public record of everything you have ever done onchain. Every salary, every trade, every donation, every mistake. You would never hand a stranger your full bank history. Onchain, most people do it by default.

Food for thought: transparent and private sound like opposites, but the systems people actually trust manage to be both.
You can verify what matters without seeing everything. That is not a compromise, it is the design.
Enjoy your Sunday.
