ChatGPT is like an air fryer. You make fun of everyone that’s using it… until you do. Then it changes your life forever.

Great alt data @JPMorganAM VC data looks nasty but there are positive signals if you are price sensitive early stage VC 1. Despite drop in exits, business formation remains at ATHs 2. Nearly 75% of PE deals occur <$100m (entry price matters) 3. Buyout activity remains at ATHs
Venture capital return dispersion will soon break into negative territory for the bottom quartile 2022 will likely be a negative return year for venture Finally, both private equity and venture exits are down significantly because IPOs have practically disappeared

I love the annual post-thanksgiving greenskeeper revenge. But I hate the fan hole.
I’m thankful @CathieDWood is launching a VC interval fund so we can publicly see the mess of private companies they invest in… Having said that… SEC-registered products are the future of VC and every other alternative asset class. Got some fun things dropping in 2023
Cathie Wood says Bitcoin will be worth 1 million per coin by 2030.
Can all investors just agree to stop funding narcissist CEOs that want their funding round to have 69 or 420 it? Seems pretty easy no?

Amazed @Twitter is still free. This is right up there with the Russell Wilson @SUBWAY spot. Lots of hilarious weirdness going on these days.
Ark, like other early movers in this space are onto something (and I believe the interval fund model is the future for VCs) but two biggest problems they are going to face to scale… high management fee and focus on small, retail investors.
What about tech-enabled? Does that count?
This is a bold take.

Fun VC story on using data and AI instead of gut. Our algo told us to invest in a 16 year old. I had a hard time writing the check. His dad had to sign paperwork. 6 months later he’s growing 20% MoM & signing big clients. Even if he doesn’t win long-term he deserved an investment
I don’t care what Leonardo DiCaprio does or who he dates…. This is just top notch data visualization

Pretty amazing the $twtr hate on $abnb Just stayed in the most amazing place for $450/night (including the crazy fees). I love hotels & airbnbs, stop trying to get clicks. Post the 20% resort fees too 😂 They each have their place. Airbnb just doesn’t have a legit competitor

Next wave of consumer fintech apps is targeting Venture Capital. @SweaterVentures launching this week and @fundrise just filed for interval fund targeting late stage VC and pre-IPO deals. Excited to see consumer demand for this space, only helps broader ecosystem!

This would have never happened if Matt Damon would have just said Fortune Favors The BOLD
It’s gonna be hard to get any work done today 🍿
