The founder of Postman says you have to kill your existing org chart, especially if you're still operating with a pre ai hierarchy arrangement.
The modern org chart, according to @a85:
- wide span of control (even within exec team)
- work directly with ICs, not through layers
- either you're building, or you're selling
Projects are led by staff/principal engineers with high agency. They see across the board as well as deep in the stack.
Product managers are building APIs and prototyping in Claude instead of writing PRDs.
Designers are shipping PRs through Cursor directly instead of relying solely on Figma.
Everyone is building. And the management's job is to develop better judgment.

Marc Andreessen: There are two ways to think about education. One is at the national level — how do you educate all kids? But the real question is N = 1: what do you do for one individual kid? And for centuries, the answer has been obvious.
If your goal is to maximize a single child, the best method by far is one-on-one tutoring. Every royal family knew this. Every aristocratic class knew this. It’s why Alexander the Great was tutored by Aristotle — and then took over the world.
There’s actually statistical proof of this. The Bloom’s 2-sigma effect shows one-on-one tutoring can move a kid from the 50th percentile to the 99th percentile. No other educational method comes close.
AI changes that. For the first time in history, every kid can have access to infinite questions, instant feedback, personalized explanations, and real-time quizzes — all at N = 1 scale.
This is the most powerful shift in education we’ve seen in centuries. One-on-one tutoring was always the gold standard. AI is what finally makes it available to everyone.

My heart is broken. If you’re ever lucky enough to land a true franchise-carrying sports unicorn and all time great — Jordan, Kobe, LeBron, Magic, Bird, Shaq, Steph, Dirk — you don’t trade them. You build an empire around them. You thank the Sports gods for being so generous to have miraculously blessed your life with an absolute miracle.
And God forbid if you were ever forced to trade such a HoF unicorn, the return better be so much that you reshape your future with so many 1st round draft picks, and young players that you can almost make sense of it.
This just doesn’t add up for me
