PAT McAFEE MISSED THE EASIEST PR WIN OF HIS WEEK.
I understand Pat’s frustration. You arrive to promote a university on College GameDay, then see its official account sharing students mocking you. Feeling unwelcome makes sense.
But I watched the clip. I didn’t find it overly offensive, and I had no problem with the university posting it.
They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery. Pat had an opportunity to roast the students back, laugh at himself, and build a love-hate relationship with Utah’s fan base. Give our audience a running rivalry. Turn the impressions into a recurring segment. There was content sitting right in front of him.
Instead, he made it a grievance.
Pat roasts people. He rips his shirt off at college events. Some people enjoy it. Others find a grown man doing shirtless routines around college students uncomfortable or creepy. If you invite attention through your behavior, you should expect people to have opinions about it.
You lose me when you dish out the jokes, then play the victim when students return a few.
And bringing Charlie Kirk’s killing into this was overboard. Kirk faced vicious hostility and threats. Students calling Pat “corny” or criticizing his shirtless routine do not establish a comparable danger.
Utah deleted the post. Pat missed a marketing opportunity.
He had room to look confident, funny, and comfortable taking a joke. Instead, his reaction struck me as weak, thin-skinned, and scared of ridicule.

FUCK ISRAEL. FUCK POLITICAL INTIMIDATION. AND FUCK THE IDEA THAT AMERICANS MUST BOW TO A FOREIGN STATE.
Thank you for sharing my story and for your support.
Now I want some answers.
WHY HAS THE INDIVIDUAL WHO REPORTED ME BEEN GRANTED THE PRIVILEGE OF ANONYMITY WHILE I WAS PUBLICLY ARRESTED FOR EXERCISING MY CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS?
I flipped someone off and did some cursing. That's it. No violence. No threats. No crime.
And yet I got arrested.
Since when does offending an Israeli citizen justify dragging an American citizen into police custody?
WHO DECIDED THAT MY FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS WERE LESS IMPORTANT THAN AN ISRAELI'S OFFENDED FEELINGS?
I will not apologize for opposing Israel's government, its occupation, its military actions, or the American politicians who bankroll them.
I don't take orders from Israel. I don't bow to its apologists. And I certainly won't surrender my constitutional rights to spare anyone's feelings.
FUCK ISRAEL'S GOVERNMENT. FREE PALESTINE. AND KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF OUR FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS.

JUST IN: Pentagon tells Congress the Iran military operation has cost American taxpayers $47,100,000,000.00.
He was going to publish their secrets. Then he vanished. The backlash reached the ballot box.
America’s first third party began with a missing man and a terrifying suspicion: Were powerful people protecting their own?
In 1826, William Morgan planned to publish Freemasonry’s secrets. His abduction and disappearance fueled suspicions that influential men could shield one another from accountability. His ultimate fate remained unresolved.
The outrage helped create the Anti-Masonic Party.
Imagine distrusting a private club so much that you put the complaint on a presidential ballot.
But beneath the secret handshakes were serious questions:
• Would public officials enforce the law against their own associates?
• Could private oaths compete with public duties?
• What happens to trust when people believe justice requires the right connections?
A republic starts having problems when accountability needs a guest pass.
Here’s the remarkable fact: The Anti-Masons held America’s first national presidential nominating convention in 1831. A party that never won the presidency helped establish how parties choose presidential candidates.
They lost the election. Their method outlived their movement.
Their story also exposes a trap: Demanding accountability is necessary. Treating suspicion as proof can create another kind of injustice.
If someone you trusted faced a credible accusation, would you demand the same investigation you would demand for someone you despised?

🤦 Trump invites people to Mar-a-Lago, jokes that $5,000 might buy a hamburger and a small dessert, then says it’s no place for the price conscious.
What a welcoming invitation. Please make yourself at home, provided your home is a hedge fund.
• Come be my guest.
• Bring five grand.
• Manage your expectations about dessert.
Yes, it’s a joke. The punchline is apparently anyone who checks a price before ordering.
Nothing says “I understand your household budget” like describing lunch as a financing decision.

Pat McAfee has survived a catastrophic encounter with two adjectives. Please respect his privacy during this difficult vocabulary.
College kids called him “corny” and “creepy,” so I gave him the solemn medal ceremony his wounded ego deserved. The thousand-yard stare. The single tear. A man who went through hell, assuming hell is a few students declining to think you’re cool.
Thoughts and prayers. The adjectives remain at large.
THEY PAID TO SAY GOODBYE. MONTHS LATER, THEIR “DEAD” DOG APPEARED ON FACEBOOK.
Then came another death. And another family with a disturbingly similar story.
Here is the sequence involving Cha Cha, a 4-year-old pug, and Senoia Animal Hospital in Georgia.
• MARCH 2026: Rebecca Belote says the hospital diagnosed Cha Cha with organ failure and diabetic ketoacidosis and recommended euthanasia. Her family paid and grieved. Her 17-year-old son lost the dog he carried everywhere and wore matching hoodies with.
• BEHIND THE SCENES: According to local reporting, a technician secretly kept Cha Cha alive and continued treating her diabetes. The family believed she was dead.
• MONTHS LATER: Rebecca spotted Cha Cha in a Facebook photograph. She says a former employee confirmed the arrangement, and the worker’s husband confirmed his wife had the pug.
Apparently, learning whether your dog survived now requires checking someone else’s Facebook.
• THE DEVASTATING END: Cha Cha was eventually euthanized. Rebecca alleges it happened to conceal the deception. The cover-up motive remains unproven.
NOW LOOK AT THIS HOSPITAL’S HISTORY.
Another family paid to have their elderly cat, Annie, euthanized at THE SAME HOSPITAL.
Eighteen months later, they learned Annie was still alive, living with a technician.
EIGHTEEN MONTHS.
Annie was eventually euthanized in August at her family’s request. The hospital refunded their money and apologized.
A refund does remarkably little for eighteen months of mourning.
• OCTOBER 23: Police announced no criminal charges. Investigators acknowledged ethical concerns but concluded the conduct did not meet the threshold for criminal prosecution. They referred the matter for veterinary regulatory review. The hospital’s lawyer advised against public comment.
Two families. Two pets believed dead. Two discoveries of secret continued care at the same hospital.
If a pet responds to treatment, CALL THE FAMILY. Explain the options. Let them participate in decisions about the animal they love.
Leaving people grieving while their pet lives elsewhere is incredibly fucked up. Saving an animal’s life does not excuse deceiving the people who trusted you with it.

Eva Schloss, Anne Frank’s stepsister and Auschwitz survivor, said certain Soviet photos of the camp liberation are not from the actual event.
She noted deep snow at the time that those images lack. She recalled being told the soldiers arrived without cameras, so pictures were taken later and do not show the real liberation.
ORDER IN THE FOOD COURT.
Facing life in prison, Robert Kessler offered to plead guilty for a Philly cheesesteak, fries, and a Pepsi.
The man approached a murder proceeding with the negotiating strategy of someone at a drive-through.
On October 26, the 74-year-old made the request during jury selection in Tampa. He even specified onions and mayonnaise. Apparently, accepting life imprisonment required an acceptible lunch.
The court should at least entertain the catering budget. We’ve spent more taxpayer money on worse ideas.
He does appear a little off his rocker in this exchange. Life in prison is on the table, and he’s still holding firm on the onions. Before anyone signs anything, establish whether he understands the plea as clearly as he understands the lunch order.
Here’s the context behind the clip: Kessler is accused of killing Stephanie Crone-Overholts, 47, whose dismembered remains turned up in McKay Bay in 2021. He faces first-degree murder and abuse-of-a-dead-body charges.
The judge rejected the food-for-plea proposal. Kessler opted to proceed with jury selection. This exchange produced no guilty plea.
The courtroom absurditity deserves the jokes. Stephanie deserves to be remembered as more than the backstory to his lunch order.

BEN SHAPIRO: PULL YOURSELF UP BY YOUR BOOTSTRAPS. PLEASE LEAVE THE FOREIGN AID ATTACHED.
Ben hears a question about repairing Jim Crow’s damage and delivers a lecture on how checks rarely make people successful. Determination. Meritocracy. Personal effort.
Then U.S. aid to Israel enters the conversation, and suddenly he’s presenting the taxpayer benefits like a salesman protecting his commision.
He even says Israel “doesn’t need the money.”
Excellent. Finally, a recipient qualified for government assistance: someone who doesn’t need assistance.
Ben, you’re like a financial adviser lecturing a struggling family about discipline while defending your wealthy neighbor’s taxpayer-funded swimming pool because it employs American contractors.
Reparations and military aid serve different purposes. Your selective reasoning still deserves scrutiny. You emphasize individual effort for one and the wider economic benefits for the other.
Calling military aid a subsidy for American defense companies doesn’t make the public expense disappear. You’ve identified another beneficiary. Congratulations on locating the invoice.
If Israel doesn’t need the money, explain why Americans need to keep supplying it. Give us measurable benefits, costs, and conditions. Apply the same scruitny you bring to compensation for people harmed by their own government.
Your delivery is fast, Ben. The double standard remains embarassingly easy to follow.

EDMUND KEMPER: TEN MURDERS. DISMEMBERED VICTIMS. A CALM VOICE EXPLAINING IT ALL.
“It was getting easier to do. I was getting better at it. I was getting less detectable.”
Edmund Kemper said those words in a 1984 interview. He was describing murder.
Watch his composure. He discusses gaining trust and concealing violence with a fluency which makes the subject even harder to process.
His crimes included killing his grandparents at 15, then murdering six young women, his mother, and her friend years later. He dismembered victims and sexually violated their remains.
In April 1973, he attacked his mother as she slept, killed her, and decapitated her. He then invited her friend Sally Hallett to the house and strangled her.
One lesser-known detail makes the betrayal of trust especially disturbing: Kemper used a UC Santa Cruz parking sticker supplied by his mother, a university employee, to access campus. He picked up students Rosalind Thorpe and Alice Liu and murdered them. An ordinary sign of campus access helped him appear familiar and safe.
Throughout this footage, he returns to his rejection, his resentment, his humiliation.
His victims had lives beyond his grievances. Their futures did not belong to him.
His articulate explanations deserve scrutiny. Describing your cruelty clearly does not establish remorse. Explaining your resentment does not make someone else responsible for your decisions.
The camera gives him time to explain himself. The people he killed never received another opportunity to speak.
Remember them when the conversation turns to how intelligent, articulate, or fascinating he seemed.
Ten people lost their lives. His personality is secondary.

DAVE PORTNOY FOUND THE MARKETING OPPORTUNITY. SOMEONE ELSE FOUND THEIR FEELINGS.
I’m no Dave Portnoy fan. I often find him disingenuous. Giving him credit here pains me, but I’ll survive without asking a university to apologize.
Portnoy understands the oportunity in Utah’s banter. Play along. Give some back. Let the students enjoy themselves. Build a rivalry people look forward to watching.
You don’t need an entire campus to love you. Give them a reason to stay interested.
Pat McAfee had the ingredients for a running joke and a lasting relationship with a passionate fan base. To me, he turned it into a discussion about his wounded feelings. Portnoy recognized an opening and made himself part of the conversation.
Now a Utah sports account is praising Dave. There’s your marketing lesson, delivered free, with an audience already attached.
A little self-awareness buys goodwill. Laughing at yourself gives people room to laugh with you. Demanding special treatment makes the original joke look more acurate.
Especially when your business involves roasting everyone else.
“If you can't make fun of yourself, don't worry, someone else will.” 🤣
I respect someone who knows how to work a crowd, even when I don’t particulary like him. Confidence earns more credibility when it survives being the punchline.
The shirt is optional. A sense of humor seems essential.

PAT MCAFEE: SEX-ABUSE JOKES ARE BANTER. CALLING HIM CORNY IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
Pat, you found room for a Larry Nassar punchline. You found an explanation for Aaron Rodgers’ Epstein insinuation about Jimmy Kimmel.
But Utah students hurt your feelings, and suddenly Charlie Kirk’s killing entered the conversation.
An extraordinary escalation from “please keep your shirt on.”
Let’s review your standards.
• July 2023: You invoked convicted sexual abuser Larry Nassar while mocking Michigan State’s uniforms. Your defense: “I was simply talking sh*t to my friend.”
• September 2023: Washington State’s defenders objected to GameDay’s treatment of their school. Your response included “Like, shut up!” and “Waste of time on this show.”
• January 2024: After Rodgers’ remarks about Kimmel, you explained, “But I think Aaron was just trying to talk shit.” You also apologized.
• October 2026: Utah’s official account shared students mocking you. You complained about discomfort, invoked Kirk’s killing, and said you hoped never to return.
Your defense is the university posted it. Fine. Official platforms carry responsibility.
Explain how ESPN escaped your calculation.
You expect people to weigh your intentions when your jokes offend them. You gave Utah’s joke the assassination context.
Those students did not become a threat because you disliked their delivery. Your discomfort does not establish their dangerousness.
And dragging a killing into a dispute over being called corny deserves scrutiny, especially from someone whose business depends on other people tolerating public ridicule.
Pat, how do you defend using a serial sexual abuser as a punchline, then invoke an assassination when college students roast your shirtless routine? Where was this concern about harmful public speech when you held the microphone?
You told Washington State to shut up.
Try holding yourself to a standard you haven’t shouted at someone else.
