Funny enough, this is the exact opposite of a recession indicator. Businesses offer promotions and incentives when they have to generate interest and consumption. They discontinue promotions and incentives when they have more demand than they can handle
$SPY hits an all time high on the one year anniversary of BTC’s last all time high
It’s been a rough year, but better days will come
This idiot @benjamincowen spent the entire bear market blocking people like me from exposing his consistently inaccurate market predictions. He blocked me after I pointed out that his highest visibility failure was miserably failing to call the top in 2021, then refusing to admit it until bitcoin was almost fully bottomed out well below $35k
At least he’s apologizing this time?
“If Bitcoin were going to reach mass adoption and an important use case, it does better than anyone else, it would have by now.”
Perhaps the most amusing excerpt from this ridiculous take.
How long is it supposed to take to topple 180 global currencies, dethrone precious metals that have been used as money for thousands of years, and educate an entire population on the revolutionary invention of digital sound money?
The dead cat continues to bounce.
What is Bitcoin, 17 years later?
It’s not great for transactions or smart contracts; the user experience is still intimidating for most, and it’s no longer capturing the public’s imagination.
If it comes up at the dinner party, it's followed by a hearty “remember that!”
It’s a boring store of value, trusted as that—which is its biggest value.
It's boring.
Folks expect bitcoin to be stable and that it’s no longer a way to get rich quick.
Institutions embracing and accumulating it took $btc from punk rock to Muzak.
Advocates went from pirates to suits in orange ties, awkwardly sharing cringe memes — just like the cool kids do!
If Bitcoin were going to reach mass adoption and an important use case, it does better than anyone else, it would have by now.
Bitcoin feels like the CD in the age of Spotify, the DVD in the age of Netflix — a bridge technology that folks who invested in “their collection” keep saying is the better experience.
Perhaps bitcoin is vinyl, cool memories and fun to drag out and put on display, but a technology that served us to get to where we are now.
Newest @shakeshack Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup milkshake comes in at an outrageous 1900 calories, 760 higher than their next highest calorie flavor and almost double the Reese’s Peanut Butter Shake from @SteaknShake
Why is no one talking about this?
As technology improves, scarce, store of value assets will become more and more susceptible to practically indistinguishable counterfeits.
Lab grown diamonds were only the beginning. Art. Watches. Maybe even gold?
Do you need a top 0.1% expert with specialized equipment to authenticate your asset?
Or can you authenticate it yourself from the comfort of your laptop?
The important role of Bitcoin as a verifiably scarce asset will only continue to grow.
Anything but buy bitcoin
Mark Zuckerberg of $META has reportedly purchased a 19th-century Gothic castle in Ireland worth up to $30 million, per CTV
Given this administration’s abysmal track record on delivering against crypto related campaign promises, this appears to be yet another timely attempt to attract pro-crypto voters ahead of midterms.
In this context, looking down when confronted by Trump about the prospect of buying digital assets for the US betrays a sense of shame and embarrassment, probably based on insider knowledge that Trump’s implication is disingenuous and purely theatrical.
I told myself I was done with shitcoins, but how do you ignore something like this from someone with a track record as visionary as the Winklevi?
An astounding number of Bitcoiners have seemingly convinced themselves that outperformance in USD terms is unimportant. This is a mind bending exhibition of cope. Outperformance means purchasing power. Purchasing power means freedom. Freedom is why Bitcoin matters.
This is the hardest cope in crypto. Of course there was euphoria:
✅ Memecoin mania on Solana. Every celebrity you can name and a million more launched by everyday plebs. Culminating in the POTUS and FLOTUS
✅ Rapid, unsustainable price appreciation, particularly in Bitcoin, smashing new highs above $100k
✅ Coinbase app climbs to #1 in the App Store
✅ Established, once respected Bitcoiners like @adam3us start unironically predicting $1m Bitcoin by end of year, 2026
Unrealistic expectations are the hallmark of euphoria. Learn from your mistakes instead of excuses, rationalizations, and cope.
Replying to @therationalroot
There was NEVER a euphoria or thrill season last year for #Bitcoin, why do we have to go down to the bottom when we never went to the highs?
In the last bear market, @stoolpresidente said Bitcoin is too big to fail. Now that it’s 20% higher, it’s going to zero.

People literally saw this lady several months ago and are only now coming to the conclusion that STRC won’t work
Looks like @coffeebreak_YT is looking pretty smart right about now….@PunterJeff not so much
