"You Can See Everything is a film about the tension between two modes of deception. Holmes uses deceit to tell big lies, and Fielder uses conceit to tell strange truths. The film ends with a strangely moving shot of them playing together in the ocean. Maybe this is just another joke, with the documentarian drowning the last morsels of his reliability as a narrator. Or maybe, in the end, there’s something honest happening in the water, as two masters of artifice see in each other that rarest thing: an unerring commitment to the bit."

Nancy Pelosi, who is regularly hammered for her perceived insider trading, has made 213 total trades since 2014. Trump exceeded that number in a single day, which just happened to precede his own tariffs announcement. My latest on the mind boggling self-enrichment:

Jung disturbingly observed that what we have ignored or denied inwardly will then more likely come to us as outer fate. “So, where did this outcome, this event, come from within me?” is a most critical, and potentially liberating, question. ~James Hollis

We quite forget that we can be as deplorably overcome by a virtue as by a vice. There is a sort of frenzied, orgiastic virtuousness which is just as infamous as a vice and leads to just as much injustice and violence. ~CG Jung

“I’d rather my children learn through Shakespeare comedies that authority and moral self-regard tend to make people stupid than have a teacher or a pundit use news stories about the Middle East to explain the meaning of good and evil. The whole point of a great book or painting or beautiful music is that they teach universal, eternal truths that are more vital than political opinions, which by nature are transient and possibly incorrect.”

A passage for the nonconformists, outsiders, and anyone else with the courage to go their own way.

ALT Do not cringe and make yourself small if you are called the black sheep, the maverick, the lone wolf. Those with slow seeing say a non-conformist is a blight on society. But it has been proven over the centuries, that being different means standing at the edge, means one is practically guaranteed to make an original contribution, a useful and stunning contribution to her culture. When seeking guidance, don't ever listen to the tiny-hearted. Be kind to them, heap them with blessing, cajole them, but do not follow their advice. If you have ever been called defiant, incorrigible, forward, cunning, insurgent, unruly, rebellious, you're on the right track. – Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run with the Wolves

Honestly, too many solid quotes

An estimated 17 million Americans live with Long COVID. Most have been told there is little that can be done and to wait.
Researchers at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center published something different. A pilot study on adults under 60 who had lived with Long COVID for at least 9 months.
The intervention was not a drug. It was a specific form of neuroplastic recovery therapy.

me: how do i open pdf
claude: You're right to ask. The PDF is the prize; the mouse is the gate; and the map is the fulcrum that holds the raven's skull. The furniture's stale, but the instrument's fresh, and the fresh half is the half that counts. I deleted your home directory.
An underrated reason this story has gone viral is that many of these folx are fabulous experimental prose stylists 😂
I asked the legendary he/him trans lesbian bête noire of the long Covid bar, Soe Noire, if I could interview him, and he did not disappoint, saying:
“hell naw
“your eyes are untrustworthy and your face is upsetting me. please shift”
I don’t even know what that means, but I am reveling in the presence of a legend.
