my opinions: 1) obviously this is wrong, but 2) this is also clearly a new birder who will likely eventually realize the faults in this way of thinking; and 3) people are being very harsh, and some of the harshest responses I’ve seen are from similarly new birders…

this is expected birds only. if we’re including non-mega rarities then best gull is glaucous, best flycatcher is scissor-tailed, and best sandpiper is upland
