Ralphie the live bison mascot for the Colorado Buffaloes is famous for reaching speeds up to 25 mph while her handlers sprint alongside her. Began in 1966 as one of college football's most iconic entrances, where the mascot runs a horseshoe pattern across the field. Every Ralphie has been female because they have a calmer temperament than giant male buffaloes (which can exceed 2,000 pounds). Specially trained students and staff practice twice a week year-round to guide and safely steer her during game day.

Castellers de Vilafranca made history by successfully completing and dismantling a "9de9f" human tower for the first time at the Concurs de Castells in Tarragona, Spain. A 9de9f features nine storeys high with nine people per main level, supported by a strong base (folre).

Before The Munsters became a classic television staple, two unaired pilot presentation episodes were produced in 1964 to pitch the sitcom to CBS. The most famous of these is a 14-minute color pitch presentation titled "My Fair Munster", which features striking character, tonal, and aesthetic differences from the series that eventually hit the airwaves. Instead of Lily Munster, Herman’s wife was originally named Phoebe and portrayed by Joan Marshall. Network executives felt Marshall’s look and performance resembled Morticia Addams from their rival show, The Addams Family, too closely. She was recast with Yvonne De Carlo for a more glamorous, motherly figure. Eddie Munster was originally played by 12-year-old Nate "Happy" Derman. His portrayal was significantly more aggressive, snarl-heavy, and bratty compared to the sweet, relatable character later played by Butch Patrick. The initial pilot was filmed entirely in color to make it easier to pitch to networks as the industry shifted formats. However, CBS ultimately chose to shoot the actual series in black-and-white, saving an estimated $10,000 per episode in production costs. The overall atmosphere of the pilot was considerably darker, featuring different theme music, alternate makeup styles, and a parody of The Donna Reed Show for its opening credits.
