I know,,I'm the guy that's going to have to pay those tolls, it's probably going to put me out of business,,me calling tolls a TAX was so uninformed voters would have a reference that they could understand.

Thanks for raising this point. General Assembly budgeters wouldn't need to cut anything close to $20M/year to eliminate truck tolls. Truck tolls brought in at most $5.3M/year after gantry expenses.

@RISenate @RIHouseofReps So the RI legislators are doing nothing. The House should cause an emergency session to cut 20 million from the budget, so we can stop paying for the restart cost of the tolls. Why can’t they do that?

Except that taxes involve revenue going INTO state coffers, Fred. Truck tolls mostly involve expenses coming OUT. Not helpful when you're trying to craft a budget.
