This deck is so stupid fun. The event is whatever for protection, but a broken trigger. Speaking of which, this deck's odds of hitting triggers got so much better. There's a voice in my head which says "take this to Regionals"

I'll elaborate a bit more. While there are plenty of different builds available, the broad playstyles this game mechanically encourages play so similarly, that decks barely register as different outside of art and minor number changes.
I've been struggling with gundam recently. I haven't enjoyed a format since GD04. New cards come out and the game plays the same. Rogue is unfun to build and the meta is repetitive. Not to mention there's no events in the south at all. So why play competitively at all?

There are fundamentally only so many different trades you can take in a game, and once you've seen all of them, it's just kinda boring There haven't been that many "new playstyles" Mostly improvements on what has already been. And the few new styles they release just get buried

So this being a generic draw 1 mill 2, is really strong. Think in decks like Yamato and koala who dont have good leader specific mill. Especially on odd curve. You could feasibly put 20+ cards in trash and cycle through most of your deck by 8-9 don. 46 card decks open up a lot.

Finally finished that koala deck guide I promised. This is some of the most insane deck building I've done since carrot. youtu.be/EawgT27_LyA?is=EoYV…

So as of right now it's just a powercreep issue. But also alot of the interesting EGB decks take practice. RG Law, UG Sanji, and even recently popular decks like Guffy fall here. These decks are solid, but need good players, which are made scarce without testing environments
It's still early days but it makes me wonder if the best deck in standard being the best deck in EGB is just a power creep consequence that will persist, or if it's because people aren't doing dedicated EGB testing as much (due to less monetary incentive)

I need to know. What effect have you legitimately stopped with eliminate target?
I've only played Haman since the starter decks released, I went from the guy playing a different deck every week to just flinging bit funnels. It's gotten to the point I'm playing GD02 Haman and Eliminate Target and winning consistently, I Love Haman Karn‼️🔥 #GCG #GundamCardGame

Printing 38 starter decks in ~4 years is insane. It's one of the best things Bandai does for their TCGs. - Easy entry point for new players - Large portion are meta-viable - Easy format to update old decks and reprint cards The only real issue is obtainability

Well tbh this is the state gundam's always in. The mechanics push decks into either extreme aggro or whatever the best top end + blockers are. This format may have more variety within the constraints, but it's not super fun for a lot of playstyles (Even when they're viable)

Won my stores extra grand battle today. GUffy is a lot better this format. I tried out the 7 Ivankov and it's definitely the way to go. I love this deck in the format Buggy blocker is better as an idea than in practice. it helps with ice age, but it's not the best solution.

So first thoughts on ZZ turbo The odds aren't as bad as they first appear (they're still bad). You can get it by turn 4-6 "most" games if you build to cheese The deck's main problems are removal & and lack of any other win condition
Ah, ZZ! It's NOT possible! No one has ever been able to summon him!

Judau is a very unfortunate card, but he matters for the deck to work since he enables core fighter to be discarded, and opens synergy with self destruction effects. Not sure how good final duty will be in comp, but it's worth testing to make this terrible gimmick deck function.

Red White is probably the best color combination. Quattro matters a lot for filter. But outside of that it's going to need a ton of testing. New Sign, GQuuuuuuX, and Strike are contenders.

Well after much testing, Koala is not a good deck. Powercreep has not been kind. It does however have access to a very funny combo. But, It works a lot better with EB05 support so I'll be delaying the video a bit until I can showcase the new cards on the sim.
Koala it is for this month. I'm getting very worried about vintage mtg actually winning one of these

6-3 at extra regulation with GUffy Buggy searcher solves most problems with the deck. But I'd need to be a better player to take those few extra wins. This build is not bad, but I think it could be pushed to better take advantage of the searcher. Post eb05 will try again.

5-1 at the flame flame fruit event today with GUffy. 4 of those wins were from opponents never having played the match up. Overall it's not bad this format, just really really hard to play optinally. Very happy with my list at least.

The thing is, it's hard to be mad at them because the economy is so distorted that it is actually more profitable to scalp cards than to work most jobs. Scalping is not good for anyone, but could you hire these people and give them a better standard of living?

You can place restrictions on purchases, ban these people from communities, and create a constant media cycle humiliating them, but it won't ever work. People are insecure enough about their futures to try anything. They will always follow the incentives.

Something I've noticed is that since all the Gundam players are all a decade older than other card game communities they don't leave as much trash everywhere. But card games focused around money like One Piece attract people with the least respect for others. Not all of course.
« But Mina why don’t you like tcg players » Yeah I wonder why
