The Government consulted on ending cages for hens back in January.
39,000 people responded, and months later we are still waiting for action.
Millions of hens are trapped in cages in the UK egg industry every year. They spend their entire lives in a space barely bigger than a sheet of paper. They can’t spread their wings, nest or roost, and many suffer feather loss, open wounds and broken bones.
Ending cages is the bare minimum, and it’s long overdue.
Your MP can raise this inside Parliament and press the Government to act.
Email them today and urge them to back a clear timeline to end cages for hens.

Text I’ve sent into @BBCgmu that they have not read out in relation to their coverage of the UK budget …once again we see the myth of “the government is like a household” and “there’s no money”… the government does not create money for funding public services via taxes …

More than 30,000 university jobs lost. FE lecturers paid up to £9,000 less than school teachers.
Ahead of the Budget, where is the government’s plan for post-16 education?
We need fair pay, secure jobs and sustainable funding.

Education is a public good, not a commodity.
As Andy Burnham calls for greater public control of essential services, UCU general secretary Jo Grady asks: where is that ambition for post-16 education?
Universities and colleges need proper funding.
