In honor of #blackhistorymonth we’re celebrating some local people who helped shape our community: Charles Brown, known for “Merry Christmas Baby" and "Driftin' Blues” was born in TC. Sold millions of copies of albums, was nominated for 3 Grammy’s & is in Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

🧙♀️🗣️ BoooOOOK! OK, we don't have Winnie Sanderson's book from "Hocus Pocus," but we have what's thought to be the first book (c. 1584) on witchcraft published in English. It had a huge impact on stage magic & Shakespeare likely researched it for “Macbeth." go.loc.gov/zBHQ50L7950

The past few years taught us how much our community needs internet access.
That’s why we’re giving away 1500 Chromebooks and hot spots! If you know someone who could benefit from this program, call us or apply at Rosenberg-library.org/IsleCo…

A flute @lizzo played in the Main Reading Room Monday (with permission from some lucky researchers who were there!) looks similar to the crystal one she had at her concert, but is actually plexiglass. It is also very rare & was manufactured when the material was first invented.🔊
