How would you rank them?

College Football - Week 8 Tricky Spots
Each week, I look for teams facing difficult circumstances beyond the matchup itself: travel, rest disadvantages, emotional letdowns, look-aheads and scheduling quirks.
3 games caught my attention this week:
Texas Tech @ Cincinnati (+11.5)
Tricky Spot: Texas Tech
Texas Tech is rolling at 6-0, but this could be a sneaky challenge.
Cincinnati has dropped 2 straight and is desperate to get back on track. The Bearcats piled up 622 yards of offense last week and still lost. Now they return home for Homecoming with something to prove.
Meanwhile, Texas Tech has a ranked Arizona team waiting next week. An early road kickoff against a desperate conference opponent could be easy to overlook.
Tennessee @ South Carolina (-2.5)
Tricky Spot: Tennessee
Tennessee is coming off a massive rivalry win over Alabama and now heads to Columbia for its 8th consecutive game without a bye.
Meanwhile, South Carolina is coming off a bye with 2 weeks to prepare at home.
Rivalry hangover potential vs. a rested conference opponent.
BYU @ UCF (+7)
Tricky Spot: BYU
BYU is coming off an enormous win over #2 Notre Dame, a game that came down to the final play with College GameDay in Provo.
Now the Cougars have to put that emotional high behind them and travel across the country to Orlando.
Waiting for them is a UCF team coming off a bye, with 2 weeks to prepare for an undefeated opponent.
UCF hasn’t been particularly impressive, but scheduling circumstances have my eye on this one.
Any other tricky spots you see this week?

After being there for the first game vs Penn State
I implore Northwestern or any college football fan to go to the new Ryan Field
Please. They deserve better.
Josh Hoover threw 33 interceptions in 3 seasons at TCU.
It took until the 3rd qtr of his 8th game at Indiana to throw his first.
Not ideal timing for one.
The Moore Watchlist | Week 8 🏈
15 things I’m watching in college football today 👇
1. Indiana @ Michigan: Tommy Carr meets Bryant Haines
Carr gets his 1st career start against an IU defense ranked 4th nationally in scoring, 9th in yards allowed and 4th in sacks. Eager to see what Bryant Haines has cooked up for him.
2. Texas Tech @ Cincinnati: Tricky spot?
The Brendan Sorsby Bowl, without Brendan Sorsby. Tech is picking up steam, but I featured this as a potential Tricky Spot. Cincinnati has dropped 2 straight and returns home desperate. Big 12 chaos?
3. LSU @ Auburn: Can LSU win away from home?
LSU has lost 8 straight road games. Auburn just knocked off #1 Georgia. A battle of Tigers on The Plains.
4. Western Michigan @ Toledo: MAC race game
WMU is unbeaten in MAC play. Toledo is right behind them and has been excellent at the Glass Bowl. Quietly one of the biggest conference games of the day.
5. Tennessee @ South Carolina: Do we believe in Cocktober?
Is Shane Beamer’s seat cooling? Can LaNorris Sellers and the Gamecock offense find success against a Jim Knowles defense that just frustrated Alabama? This should be a good one.
6. Iowa @ Minnesota: The CFP path goes through Floyd
In the preseason, I said if Iowa went 2-1 against Michigan, Ohio State and Washington, they’d be CFP bound. They went 2-1. Now rival Minnesota gets a chance to spoil it. Also, Floyd of Rosedale is the 2nd best looking trophy in the sport (Land-Grant is #1).
7. BYU @ UCF: The hangover test
BYU just beat #2 Notre Dame and climbed to #2 itself. Now comes a road trip to a rested UCF team. Interested to see how the Cougars handle success and an obvious emotional letdown spot.
8. Texas A&M @ Alabama: Can Marcel Reed change the narrative?
Reed has struggled badly against ranked opponents. Now he walks into Tuscaloosa against an Alabama team desperate to stop a 2-game skid. Huge spot for both.
9. North Texas @ Navy: Pick your poison
North Texas wants to throw it all over the yard. Navy wants to run it down your throat. Two completely different offensive identities with real AAC implications. Which style dictates the game?
10.Virginia Tech @ Clemson: New program, same question
James Franklin was just 3-24 straight up as an underdog at Penn State. Today is his 1st game as an underdog at Virginia Tech. Can Franklin win one he isn’t supposed to?
11. Ole Miss @ Texas: When do we see KJ Lacey?
Arch Manning is still the starter, but Texas has dropped 2 straight and the margin for error is gone. If the offense sputters again, I’m watching to see not just if Sark makes a change, but how quickly.
12.USC @ Wisconsin: USC finally visits Camp Randall
The Trojans haven’t played in Madison since 1965. USC comes off a bye at 6-1, but this starts a brutal closing stretch. Interested to see how Lincoln Riley’s team handles Camp Randall at night.
13.UTSA @ Tulane: Can Tulane turn them over again?
Tulane just forced 6 turnovers against Memphis. UTSA has been one of the AAC’s hottest teams. I’m watching whether the Green Wave can create that kind of chaos again.
14.North Dakota State @ New Mexico: First one to 20?
New Mexico has the #1 scoring defense in the country. NDSU is #2. The Lobos are unbeaten in Mountain West play and NDSU is already bowl eligible in Year 1 at the FBS level. Love this game.
15.Houston @ Utah: Big 12 After Dark
Two top-15 teams with legitimate conference title aspirations. Houston excels at extending drives. Utah wants to suffocate you defensively and control the game. Perfect way to close the night.
What’s the game you think everyone is sleeping on today? 👀
Stanford had 234 yards of total offense in the 1st quarter against NC State tonight.
That’s more than the Cardinal managed in ENTIRE GAMES against:
• Notre Dame (202)
• Wake Forest (197)

BYU holds a clear edge on third down in this matchup. While the Cougars’ offense continues to execute with precision, UCF faces an uphill battle to find consistency in high-pressure situations. A decisive factor in the game's outcome.
Who wins: BYU or UCF?
