No, these are not organisms. They are Rushton/hyaline bodies, which are seen exclusively in odontogenic cysts. They were an incidental finding in a recurrent keratocystic odontogenic tumor and are seen in about 7% of these lesions. Unknown etiology. #pathology #surgpath #ENTPath

Nice example of Chédiak–Higashi granules from @ForestHulsMD. CH is a rare entity, caused by mutations in the LYST (CHS1) gene. In contrast "pseudo-Chédiak–Higashi" or "Chédiak–Higashi-like" granules are relatively more common and can be seen in AML. @kmirza @prion87 @MoravekMD /1 xitter.cf/ForestHulsMD/status/97…

A great case of Castleman disease. Associated with follicular dendritic cell sarcoma. The multicentric form is associated with HHV-8 and Kaposi's sarcoma.
