🌀 Typhoon #KongRey in Taiwan intensified into a super typhoon and now poses a significant threat to the Northwest Pacific.
💨 With wind speeds reaching 230 km/h and gusts exceeding this, Kong-Rey is one of the most powerful storms in the region this year.
🌀 According to @dost_pagasa, the typhoon is expected to approach Taiwan by October 31, potentially marking the most significant impact on Taiwan since 1996, when Typhoon Herb made landfall.
⚠️ Warnings are released across Taiwan, where authorities are bracing for heavy rains and dangerous winds.
🇵🇭 This typhoon also affects the northern Philippines, particularly regions still recovering from Typhoon Trami, and could cause additional flooding and damage as it progresses.
