Red Wings unable to stay out of the box due to questionable officiating. And the Avalanche take advantage. 4-0 Loss in Colorado for Detroit.
Mo Seider standing out as the leader of the franchise once again in the 3rd, pummeling Gabe Landeskog in a great fight.
Not much they really could do tonight after the continuous parade to the penalty box against a dominate superstar lineup of a power play.
Colorado would score 3 on the power play.
Like Mo Said in his post game presser, “they can still bounce back on this road trip” .
Now, 7-8-3 so far, isn’t great - but could be a lot worse with everything that’s been going on with this team on the outside.

Wings may be down 4-0, but they’re not quitting out there.
Playing for the logo.

Another Power play goal for Colorado. 4-0.
Power play heavy tonight on the Avs side.

Moritz Seider throws lefts and rights, Gabriel Landeskog roughed up for sure.
Moritz Seider doesn’t have the C on his jersey but he is the true leader of this franchise.

Penalty filled second period for the Wings.
Avs strike twice on the power play, MacKinnon going bar down on the second.
2-0 after 2, Colorado.

2-0. MacKinnon rips one past Tarasov.
Another power play goal for Colorado.
Red wings been in the box for a majority of this second period.

Weird bounce and it’s 1-0 Colorado.
It’s been all Avs to start the second. Penalties a huge reason why.

One of the best first periods of the season in terms of offensive chances.
Tarasov making the big saves when needed.
Shots 13-5 Detroit.
Scores 0-0 after 1 in Colorado.

Postgame thoughts on last nights @griffinshockey game.
Trey Augustine is very very good. His poise is next level. Rebound control is as elite as they get, with that he limits a lot of high danger scoring opportunities. Theres a reason he’s won every place he’s been. Future NHL high end starter.
The Wings might have something in Dylan James, not saying he’s a top 6 guy, but his PK skill, and forechecking ability was great to see - led to a great short handed goal.
Carter Bear will be up a lot sooner than expected. Play making and the way he reads the ice with and without the puck is something the Wings have needed. Also, sounds cliche for an Yzerman pick but his checking and defensive game is above many for his age at the pro level.
Also Shiner, what a beaut. Hope he gets a call up this year.
