Cooking a brand new "mouse and keyboard over LAN" for Omarchy 🍳
ferry: one mouse and one keyboard across your Hyprland machines. Lay the screens out like your desk and the pointer crosses where the edges touch.
Rust daemon + a native omarchy-shell bar plugin.
⛴️ New cargo on board: your clipboard
Ferry already carried your keyboard and mouse between Hyprland machines. Now whatever you copy rides along too: text and images, pasted on the far shore.

Here it is running: one mouse moves from my two monitors down to an old netbook, and the keyboard follows the pointer.
QUIC with mutual TLS, LAN only, no accounts, no cloud. MIT, early 0.1.0 preview:

it’s 2026. build like you’re already going to get hacked, because sooner or later you probably will
collect less. only keep the customer data you actually need. anything you never store can’t leak
encrypt everything you keep. not just passwords and card numbers: names, emails, addresses, photos, uploads, all of it. if someone gets into your database or storage, they should find nothing they can read
delete what you don’t need anymore. old accounts, expired orders, stuff from years ago that nobody uses. set it up so it gets deleted automatically, not “someday"
don’t store tokens or api keys unless you really really really really have to. if you do, encrypt them hardcore or put them in a secrets manager. and either way, keep your encryption keys separate from the data they protect
basically: the less data you keep, the less you have to worry about when you get hacked
In 1994, software was dead. People told me programming was for nerds and that I should become a doctor or a lawyer instead.
In 2004, software was dead. People told me that someone from India would take my job for $5/hour.
In 2014, software was dead. People told me that no-code was going to kill every job and doom my career.
In 2024, software was dead with Devin, Windsurf, Copilot, and OpenAI o1.
We kill software every 10 years, and yet the demand for good Software Engineers has never been higher.

NEVER try to make people like you.
You could LITERALLY build a flying car and donate $10 billion to children, and people will STILL find ways to shit on you.
Just be you.
DON'T WORRY ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK!
JUST DO COOL SHIT!!!!!

Un détail : lors du show de présentation de la Tesla Roadster : le robot Optimus est au volant, il lève le pouce tout en retournant la voiture... puis éclate de joie 🤩
Fusées, voitures, robots, satellites, IA @elonmusk est partout !
Readers added context they thought people might want to know

.@dhh My take on the Omarchy site - leaning in Hyprland + editable OS vibes, themes, fun stuff.

I think the current homepage design/layout for Omarchy has outgrown itself! I'd like to spin up a new Omarchy Design team to work on that (and other projects). Interested? Send a redesign of the homepage to [email protected]. If it vibes, you're in.
Just installed Omarchy Quattro in a VM hosted by 3.8. Now I can safely migrate and test a bunch of own productivity enhancements made in 3.8 to Quattro, and then when I feel it is ready, it will be one prompt away 🚀🖥️
Thanks @dhh for making computers fun again 💙

Laravel 13.20+ finally brings first-party image processing. 🖼️
Huge shout-out to @enunomaduro for cooking this one.
$request->image(), Storage::image(), configurable drivers, and immutable transformations.
This feels like it has always belonged in Laravel.
