Replying to @gregorrobertson
lol.
Remember when you went in front of cameras and asked for compensation for small businesses during Canada Line construction?
You have been soooo quiet.
Thanks to all of our Mayoral Candidates for coming out to a BIA Partnership event last night. So many ideas about how the COV could better serve / help small businesses. @kareemformayor @Vote_Vancouver @VanGreens @Vote4ABC @vote4team Pete, Ken, Colleen, Rebecca, Kareem

A Go Fund Me has been set up for Ali, beloved shopkeeper of the H and Z Market. He was shot while at work, and is recovering at home.
Someone posted a picture of fire trucks outside of Heritage Hall last night as a possible lightning strike. In the picture, it appeared the flagpole was gone. We went by this morning and all is well. If it was struck, I doubt it was the only time in it's 120 year history.
Or, hear me out...Brooklyn is the Mount Pleasant of New York....dailyhive.com/vancouver/vanc…

This is awesome! I am so thankful for Neil, he is a rockstar
WATCH: The BC NDP pounded the table (in opposition) for Cambie merchants to be compensated for rapid transit construction.
But now (in government) compensation for Broadway businesses is off the table.

Really? dailyhive.com/vancouver/onec… After 7 years with the MPBIA, we had no idea what the VEC did, or how they helped businesses...maybe our fault? But the new Business and Economic Development Office at City hall is awesome, and have been great to work with from the first minute.
A not a dime for the Broadway Line Businesses....two big ones shutting down next week @fablediner and @SportChek and more on the way...1000's of jobs along Broadway, yet none of them important enough to save @KahlonRav news.gov.bc.ca/releases/2026… @Dave_Eby @mikefarnworthbc
Cost to taxpayers growing as Granville SRO remains open for 1 resident

Another article about the Broadway Line losses on the day that @fablediner announces it is closing...this project is decimating all 22 blocks of the construction footprint, and our impotent Gov't continually claims there is nothing they can do. biv.com/news/retail-manufact…
This one hits hard. @fablediner has announced it's closure. They have fought the obstacles put in front of it by the Provincial Gov't and the @broadwaysubway_ and finally, cannot fight any longer. The impotence of this Gov't and this ministry is staggering. @mikefarnworthbc 1/2
leave over the past 6 years, each with their own financial burden to carry with them, and @fablediner will not be the last. Our Prov. politicians will say anything to get elected, but then start repeating the excuses of the previous Gov't. No help ever comes. @gregorrobertson
We spoke to CBC radio about the Broadway Line closure. A member shared with us today that the food delivery drivers are now cancelling orders made at his restaurant because it is too difficult, or too long to get there. Have a listen @mikefarnworthbc cbc.ca/listen/live-radio/1-4…
Mount Pleasant already has a fabulous data centre and it’s called the freaking VANCOUVER PUBLIC LIBRARY and it’s incredible !! ( with a cafe on the ground floor ) If you want free access to book collections, free Wi-Fi etc, in a LEED-certified building ! Check it out !
This is worth a read.
