Four games in and Brooklyn is playing at the 10th fastest pace in the league after ranking 26th last year. The offense is still 23rd. Running faster just gets us to the bad shot quicker. Slow it down Friday against Detroit and put the ball in Randle's hands.

They don't want to guard anybody. Opponents have a 58.1% effective FG rate through 4 games, 29th in the league. Brooklyn outshot Boston last night and lost because Boston lived at the line.
Last night is basically what I expected this year with some better D (and healthy Demin.)

Tenth is fair for Mikel through 3 games. The shot is ugly right now at 42.2% true shooting, but he's assisting on 28.3% of teammate buckets. The passing doesn't slump.

Jay-Z owned one-fifteenth of one percent of the Nets and somehow got to be the face of dragging them out of Jersey. Then he cashed out in 2013 to go be a sports agent. Cheapest franchise heist ever if you ask me. We paid full price.

As a nets fan Draymond telling players to go to therapy for their temper is the best rebrand in the league. Punch a teammate, stomp Sabonis, choke Gobert, then come back as the wellness guy.
Draymond Green says players should attend therapy sessions to help manage their temperaments “It does because ultimately it helps your temperament. It helps you in decision making. It helps you in patience. It helps you have grace. And so I think ultimately it does because it makes you a better person. And being a better person is 1,000% going to make you a better player because it affects all the other things that you do. It affects your whole being.” (Via hoopshype.com/story/sports/n…)

As a nets fan I've got no dog in this. The jumper part is easy, LeBron shot 29% from three at 19. He also scored 20.9 a night and won Rookie of the Year.
“Cooper Flagg’s a better defender than LeBron at 19. Cooper Flagg’s got a better fundamental jump shot at 19. Cooper Flagg is more positionally versatile defensively at age 19.” - Brian Windhorst (h/t @TheNBABase )

Everybody wants to bury Randle for going 0 for 7 from three in Boston. Through 4 games the Nets are 29.5 points per 100 better with him on the floor than off it. Find somebody else to blame.

Traore's the one I'd circle. 59.9% true shooting through 4 games after 47.9% all of last season. Small sample, I don't care, that's a different jumper.
For all the hand-wringing over the last play, the bottom line is that Nets are starting to see that they can rely on three of their seven firsts over past two years in Demin, Traore and Brown Jr. Tough, tough loss but think bigger picture. Brown was sensational in Q4/OT.

Nets fans need a glass of Settle Down Juice after last night. MBJ had a lot of assists, but no dimes. A lot of buckets, but a lot of bad shots. We aren’t there yet with this kid. Let’s all breathe.

Michael Porter Jr. had 27 and 12 with six threes tonight. Julius Randle went 0 for 7 from three in 44 minutes. We lost by one. Nets are 0-4.
Mikel no look pass 🔥 MPJ three 🎯

I led almost the whole night in Boston just to watch Tatum stick a turnaround in my chest at zero. Up one with six seconds. Two misses at the rim. I feel sick. Don't send me the clip. I was there.
JAYSON TATUM. GAME-WINNING @TISSOT BUZZER-BEATER TO SEAL IT FOR THE CELTICS IN OT 🤯😳 🚨⏰Everyone Gets 24

Up one with six seconds left in OT and the rookie can't finish at the rim. Tatum turns around and walks us off at the buzzer. I said at halftime we'd blow it. I hate being right.
JAYSON TATUM WITH A BUZZER BEATER TO BEAT THE NETS!

Julius Randle was 2 for 10 with a flop tech at halftime. He's got 24 now and scored our first two buckets of overtime. Nets up 121-119 with two minutes left in Boston. I will never doubt him again until the next game
127
Down three with 2.7 left in Boston and the rookie pulls up from 23 and ties it. Mikel Brown Jr. is not scared of anything. Overtime.
MIKEL BROWN JR. IN THE CLUTCH. WE ARE HEADED TO OVERTIME IN BOSTON 🍿

Down 90-82 and we just ripped off a 17-7 run. Michael Porter Jr. hit three threes in it and Mikel Brown Jr. just buried a 26-footer for the lead. Nets up 99-97 in Boston with 6:42 left. I take back what I said at halftime

12 points in 11 minutes off the bench in Boston. Keep running him out there.
Chaney Johnson in 11 MIN off the bench in the first half 12 PTS 4-5 FG 2-2 3FG

Kid looks just like a young Jason Kidd getting downhill. Speed first, then the finish.
speed 💨 strength 💪 Nolan Traore.

We were up 77-72 with four minutes left in the third. Celtics just went on an 18-5 run and now we're down 90-82 early in the fourth. Called it at halftime.

Julius Randle went into the half 2 for 10 with a flop tech. He's 3 for 4 in the third with an and-1 and the Nets are up 77-72 in Boston. Don't look at him, don't say anything
