In Monroe, we have a full department able to handle our citywide safety. After fully staffing our department a year and a half later we had crime decreased by 33%. And we’re just getting started.
Here’s the deal, it’s not just about funding. It’s about making police officers feel supported, needed, and wanted in a community. It’s about hiring practices and the ability to further their careers with training and growth goals to help them plant down roots for the long haul.
We must make being a police officer great again in North Carolina and I can’t wait to share with you how we’re going to do exactly that.
It’s far outside of the box than anyone else has ever thought of.
