9/10 ragebait
Ok now that we know what the schedule is like post GDC I can confidently say that GDC having 6 LR banners wasn't as bad as it seemed at first if this is how they were going about it, but obviously if they are going to do this again we need a LOT more stones, tickets or a free unit.
Y'all taught me 2 weeks ago that you've already stopped reading, but this is a video script anyway lol
LR SSJ3 Goku & LR Kid Buu dropped on September 29th. The next NEW characters seem to be dropping on October 29th. That is a full 30 days between new characters. We can do a 6 banner celebration if it's gonna have a 30 day cooldown in my opinion.
But like I said before it's still a problem the lack of rewards that were given out in the GDC, and certainly there is a big difference between Super Baby + Baby Gohan & Goten dropping last year where no one gave a fuck about them at all, where this year they were turned into very desirable LR SSJ3 Goku & LR Kid Buu which people would want.
This 30 day period between new releases is the first time this has happened since 2018 where we got new units on January 30th, then the next drop was March 18th.
I understand all frustrations, but the 6 LR banners weren't as bad as it seemed because it wasn't an actual EXTRA banner, 2 celebrations were just combined together basically.
The biggest issue remains the stinginess in a celebration where Dokkan was Top Grossing 3 different times for over 10 days time total.
I think stones tickets, rewards easily could have been straight up doubled with no negative to the game.
The issue is that they require the use of a premium currency.
If you don't have these, then sure. But players who already have these are using said premium currency to obtain units they ALREADY have.
& They are not generally free, no. Alt arts should not function this way.
Replying to @TheMaskedNingen
I might be going crazy cuz I really don't see the issue with alt arts
They're easy as hell (and free) to get, they have no gameplay consequence as you can just use the regular version, they don't take up a new unit slot, and if you don't fuck with 'em they're an easy skip 🤷♂️
this has to be ragebait
I think the 2026 GDC is probably around a 9/10. People are very upset right now for good reason because the devs themselves put the expectations sky high.
But as time goes on this celebration is going to be beloved. Players leaving the Cooler Movie celebration back then would have been giving it 5/10 talks, nowadays players consider it a top 5 celebration.
I think 2026 GDC is probably around a top 5 celebration overall, but without question behind the 10th Anniversary, 9th Anniversary & 2025 GDC. Other celebrations could be a discussion.
The 6 LRs are maybe the best batch of celebration LRs ever with none of the 6 truly lagging behind, and most players having a different 1-6 order, although most major celebrations lately have been very good with that.
The saga restrictions for most of the LRs are hugely overblown. The Namek saga is obviously the weakest, but that has no impact on how good Goku & Frieza are. The other Cell’s are worrisome when INT Cell’s boost wears off, but TEQ Cell is so OP, and his synergy with Kid Buu is so crazy that I don’t think it will matter much in the long run.
6 banners with only 50 tickets, no free unit like the 10th anniversary (potentially, we’ll see) is just way way too much. 6 banners can be fine, but I think WAY more resources needed to be given to players. Like seriously 6 banners feels like WAY too much without more free resources being given 😭
Content for this celebration is probably the best ever. We got 2 god level fights which always brings out the crying, but I don't think either fight is too much, I truly believe they were balanced around clearing both with the Great Saiyaman's Helmet. I know people will push back on how excellent the content of this celebration was, but they are wrong, flatly.
We have gotten so much easy, medium, difficult, and crazy difficulty level content this celebration. I think truly just a content master class.
The exception being Battlefield is dogshit. A mode where you cannot use support items, support memories, and are just dropped into a nasty fight with no setup and no options is too much. Nothing wrong with Kid Buu being a god level fight when you can bring 8 items and a support memory. You get none of that in Battlefield. Dokkan should have learned their lesson from fights like Battlefield Omega Shenron and not released nonsense like this.
The pacing of the celebration was obviously very bad, but this applies to literally every celebration except the 8th Anniversary. Although it did feel extra worse in this celebration. Content every 3 days should be the standard in this type of celebration with no exceptions.
And finally we get to the #1 problem of the celebration for me. EZAs. We are somewhere between 10-15 EZAs short. These types of celebrations should flood EZAs. That is the lifeblood of these major celebrations.
But we can't lose sight of how good most of these EZAs in this celebration have been, with some feeling like some of the stronger EZAs ever.
Overall the celebration is very good but with some obvious holes, players are upset now for good reason, but in time this celebration will be looked back on very fondly 👍
8 years ago, we received 3 new premium LR's in a celebration that gave us 1,070 free stones.
8 years later, we received double the amount of premium releases ( banners ), in a celebration that has given us around 1200 free stones.
the 44% ticket is not NEARLY enough.
