Quick break from my Self imposed X/Ban to pay homage to the @American_Conf outgoing Commish! A wonderful man that wasn’t afraid to be a force for change, and to fight to keep his League strong, plus send a message that a level of fairness was a MUST at the Division 1 Level. Mike Aresco wasn’t just an Administrator high on his League, he was a Nationally renowned Programmer in college athletics for 5 decades. His work @espn and most recently @CBSSports modernized the viewing habits of the modern day CFB fan. The @SEC owes him a debt of thanks for making their League the most exposed and powerful in America. It wasn’t until Roy Kramer trusted Mike enough to make a landmark deal with the “Tiffany Network” and its last contract that just concluded was one of the profitable in CBS History! Mike “cared”and in Sports television I’m not sure all the so called “suits” do! He made CFB personal and professional for us. @SpenceTillman @GaryDanielson, the Great #VerneLundquist all know from where I speak. Mike had his detractors, but all leaders do if some in their landscape don’t share a vision. Our “All About Us Club” gatherings on Saturday Nights in Manhattan were legendary. #ArchieManning @MrCFB were on hand for many and anyone else that loved CFB were always invited. You’d be surprised at the many luminaries that joined us occasionally. Have a great retirement Mike. 🎧📺🎙️🏈
