Hey folks, my materials for Googlepalooza 2025 can be found here: seaneichenser.com. I apologize for the confusion on Sched, it has been fixed!
I didn't read through every single post, but this concept is fascinating if you're a history/civics teacher. With a few tweaks I could even see this being a great lesson.

Heads up CPS folks, it would appear that Gemini features are slowly rolling out to our accounts.
Gemini Education might already appear when you open Google Classroom, for example. Check it out!
Two of my Googlepalooza sessions were accepted! 🤩
I'll be going over a 101 and a 201 of Google's new built-in video editor, "Google Vids."
If you can use Google Slides, you can create polished videos, perfect for re-teaching, open house nights, or even student projects. 🎬
ALT A Google Vids screenshot displays a video editing interface. On the left, a large preview window shows a title slide for an "Untitled video" with "Roadmap Overview" prominently displayed on a light green background. Below this, a timeline indicates the video is 00:05.5 out of 00:05.5. The bottom left shows small thumbnails of scenes. On the right, a sidebar shows a smaller preview of the current "Roadmap Overview" scene, along with a list of other scenes including "Introduction," "Project Area Background," "The Roadmap: Overview," and "Looking at the Future Closing Statement," as well as video clips of a woman and a scene labeled "Purpose."
niche tweet but if you’re teaching the 8th grade Skyline curriculum for any reason, Doctor Who just put out an episode on Disney+ called “The Story and the Engine” that would pair nicely with the Black Panther unit. Griots are named and it centers around shared stories. TV-PG
I'm excited to present at CPS Tech Talk 2025! techtalk2025.sched.com/event… @ChiPubSchools #cpstech #cpsgoogle

It’s been a minute since I’ve been able to present at a CPS tech event, but my presentation on the new Google Vids app was just accepted for February’s Tech Talk!! Excited to be sharing and connecting with folks across the district again! 😃
This is why I used to go over a different cultural idiom or literary allusion every single day with my middle schoolers.
We’re losing large swaths of intertexuality to kids not having exposure to a larger & more diverse selection of accessible, bedrock, foundational content.

As a teacher who is always looking for accommodations & modifications for students, this is is an extension I'm keeping an eye on. Particularly as more of our day-to-day work is moved to Chromebooks, this one-stop-shop is interesting. assistive24.com #NotAnAd
Hey CPS folks, it would appear that you have access to Google Vids now (vids.new) great to have an easy video editor built into Google Workspace (including Classroom!)
Hey teachers! If you're looking for a clean, easy to customize planner creator, this one could help. Great for you or potentially students who need a little extra help with executive functioning. Pages can be printed or uploaded to a tablet:

I know I needed this a lot as a teacher, if you need a timer that counts down IN your browser tab: tabtimer.net/
Because this continues to be a @flippitynet fan account, they now have a new "group game." (Looks shockingly similar to Connections, but that's neither here nor there🤣).
I've had students make these as extra credit reviews before!

If you’re like me and created a lot of teacher training materials using Google’s link shortener and are panicking because all of your links are going to break: an easy solution!

Heads up folks that as of today, my CPS email is deactivated. Always willing to help though, DM me for personal email/phone!
I’m also on LinkedIn should you need!
Neat! @flippitynet just added a new video game mode, turn your review game into a fun space invaders-eque activity, complete with 8-bit graphics and music!
