🤠 Texas Hold'em was born in Robstown, Texas in the early 1900s. It hit Vegas in 1967, then in 2003 an amateur named Chris Moneymaker turned an $86 online qualifier into $2.5M, and the poker boom was on. What's your favorite starting hand? 👇
🎰 In 1967 a group of Texas gamblers, Doyle Brunson among them, brought the game to Las Vegas. By 1971 it was the main event of the World Series of Poker, and it's held that spot ever since.
🏛️ It's not just a legend, either. In 2007 the Texas Legislature officially recognized Robstown as the birthplace of Texas Hold'em. Back then it was a game played in small-town backrooms, a long way from the casino.
