Next year we'll do it in-person!
Google just opened a platform that plugs a business's working functions straight into Search and Gemini.
Not a link. Not a ranking. A callable function, authorised by the user.

Now we have more information from Accuranker. And it's not good:
"On the worst day, October 24, Google poisoned 40% of our first desktop fetches. After our checks, 3.2% of the desktop keywords in our sample still had a swapped page 1. The next day, desktop was under 1% again."

We just published some new research on a specific type of Google poisoning where they ignore the majority of the words in your query. This has been going on since early 2026, though it did spike in the last month alongside the rest of the poisoning.
We also updated our original post with data about page 2 and the poisoning problem is significantly worse than originally reported.

Cloudflare has deployed default web application firewall (WAF) protections for newly disclosed PHP vulnerabilities before public disclosure. The rules use request and response signals to stop exploit attempts and prevent exposed data from reaching attackers. cfl.re/488w8dc
Weird all the US vs EU car posts, I can't think of a single car from the US I'd want really in the past 30 years, not car person anyway.
I'm starting to think we have more or less arrived at the day where "rank tracking" is not worth the effort or even relevance....
Google is aggressively poisoning search results to block scrapers, feeding trackers fake data that looks perfectly normal. SEO tools are struggling to keep up as Google prioritizes fighting AI bots over tracking services. If your data looks weird, you aren't imagining it.

New: an unscored 7th step, the agent discovery ladder. Can an agent find, read and act on your site without a human?
Took my own site to Level 4 in a day. Not a ranking factor. Just the floor.
