Stoked to have published in @ScienceMagazine, but this is not a happy Letter. Portuguese farmland birds are in an all-time low, and the Ministries of @agricultura_pt and @ambiente_pt must act together ASAP to make farmlands biodiverse, Healthy and functional again.

Feeling super lucky to have participated in such a big collaborative work investigating the impact of wind turbines on lesser kestrels at a trans-country and trans-continental level. Have a look👇👇
Using locations of >1800 colonies and tracks from 354 individuals, we assessed wind turbine exposure for Lesser Kestrels in EU and Africa.
26% of the EU pop has at least 1 turbine around colony. Sadly, Natura2000 fails to mitigate potential impact
