February 19 is Heritage Day! This year, Nova Scotia is putting a spotlight on the life and legacy of William Hall: the first Black person and the first Nova Scotian to be awarded the Victoria Cross. We had a chance to visit the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic to check out their William Hall display. Take a look at this video to find out more about Hall and enjoy a powerful monologue performed by Jacob Sampson.
We hope this video, recorded in both English and French, will be a helpful resource in your classrooms!

At the book launch, Keonte shared some inspiring words and lyrics to inspire students. Check it out!
