something i really wish people got about misty silhouette beyond the constant bread-hating jokes is why the story had charlie's character be a baker and why that in particular set xavier off we know how much value xavier places on sharing food together as an expression of love and care. and specifically sharing bread and baked goods has been a key detail of xavmc's story and relationship ever since philos it was the first food we ever shared together as students, in his anecdote when shooting stars fall. after escaping his bodyguards, we ate bread in the rain in his shooting stars myth, after we were pouting over having to cover for his disappearances during winter break, he promised to share our favourite brown sugar cake together to make it up to us it's also the first food we share together in the present linkon timeline. in the main story, when we meet with captain jenna in the association building, he shares his bread with us. we soon become official hunter partners after then we have the card moment's respite, not long after we've discovered that xavier is our upstairs neighbour. he nearly blows up his kitchen in an attempt to make egg tarts, so we help him out by baking with him we also have seeker of light. it's actually in this early tender moments card where we first learn about forming habits over 21 days. we form a habit with xavier of meeting up to walk home together after work, where we get the monthly special chocolate cream bread from our local convenience store and that's just to name a few! so of course he'd feel jealous and hurt when a new neighbour comes along, friendly and charming, doing exactly the same thing he did. he even admits it himself, when he questions if we're also going to get more new neighbours who “read books, watch movies, and go for walks together” (all things that we do with each other) in his mind, someone is stealing our thing. not just anyone, but another neighbour, part of who xavier is to us it's why we specifically reassure him later that we aren't going to leave or replace him. xavier, our xavier, is our favourite neighbour, and the person we care about most in the world it feels like it's something that gets completely forgotten due to all the jokes, but i really love that the source of his upset was this possessiveness over something that is particularly special to us and our relationship (something that we don't even realize spans across lifetimes that we've shared with him)
