It’s been a busy semester for our Dolphins! 🐬 We had a family game night - carnival style - and it was a hit! Thank you to all of the families and students who came out to participate. Huge shoutout to the staff, volunteers, and sponsors for making it possible! 🫶

The results are in, & the conclusion is clear: Mrs. Smith is the DRMS TOY! 🏆 This incredible 6th Grade Science teacher doesn’t just teach the facts, she sparks curiosity & lights the path of discovery for every student. We’re beyond proud to honor the impact she makes daily! ✨

Our 6th grade dolphins had a very special visitor today! 📚 Students were delighted to learn about author Kwame Mbalia’s writing process, sources of inspiration, and hilarious stories along the way. Special thanks to Page 158 Books for arranging the visit!

The EOG pep rally this week was filled with dancing, games, and SLIME! Oh, yeah, and encouragement for our dolphins as they began EOGs! @DRMSPrincipal was a great sport as we celebrated meeting our March Madness Fundraising goal!

Today we celebrate our amazing Mrs. Smith as she received the @WCPSS Employee Spotlight Award! 🎉 Mrs. Smith is a fun, engaging, & caring science teacher on our 6th grade hallway who is always putting kids first while sparking their knowledge and curiosity. Congratulations! 🩵🐬

At the @WCPSS board meeting tonight, our very own Morgan was celebrated as the Durant Road Middle Spotlight on Students award winner! 🩵🐬 We are so proud of her and all of her growth and accomplishments. We know she’ll continue to shine in high school! ✨

Tonight we celebrate our DRMS TOY, Ms. Demming! Ms. Demming is Dynamic, Encouraging, Marvelous, Memorable, Inspiring, Nurturing, and Genuine! (see what we did there? 😉) We are so lucky Ms. Demming has decided to call Durant her home! 🩵🐬

There is #PowerinthePod 🐬 Our DRMS dolphins spent the last 2 days learning and practicing @KaganOnline strategies. 💡 We are ready to implement our new cooperative learning structures when our kiddos track back in! 👫👫
