When I was a high school English teacher, I was constantly blown away by how willing and how eager my students were to grapple with the difficult topics and questions that arose from books we read. Young people are capable of far more than many adults often give them credit for.

As we await vaccines, we must reduce transmission to save a portion of the 4K lives lost daily.
At a minimum, vaccinate teachers and other staff at risk for dying before you expect them to return to in-person learning to earn a paycheck. Why is this even a debate?

4K dead again today.
1. Open schools once teachers/staff are vaccinated.
2. Close indoor dining. 45 states aren’t doing this
3. No travel.
4. Mobilize the 4 branches of the US military now re: vaccination
5. Train the trainer and create more vaccinators.
