Electronic Arts' main account has been silent for quite some time now.
If EA thinks staying silent and waiting for the community to move on will be enough, they're wrong. We're not going anywhere. We're not forgetting.
WE WILL HOLD THE LINE! ❤️

Jennifer Hale made a statement on BioWare closure and EA saying EA never understood BioWare and she hopes someone can buy and save the Mass Effect IP, among others🚀
“It’s really hard to think about BioWare being shut down, but it was in the hands of ownership that may not have understood what BioWare fully is.
And I’m hopeful that maybe there might be some crazy thing where they decide that, in order to increase their profit margins—which is often their priority—they will release these IPs into the market to sell them, and use that to do what they do, which is increase their profit margins.
Maybe someone could grab hold of these IPs and do something with them.
Mark Darrah also echoed her sentiment in a statement within the same interview:
“EA doesn’t understand BioWare. I’d argue it was an accidental acquisition.
EA bought VG Holding—which included BioWare and Pandemic—largely to acquire Pandemic and Knights of the Old Republic, because it wanted an MMO and the Battlefront developers.
In doing so, it ended up with BioWare Edmonton, the core old-school RPG studio. EA never really understood what it wanted from BioWare.”

Nicolas “Sparth” Bouvier was Mass Effect 5 art director starting April 2026 until the game was cancelled and BioWare shut down🚀
He took over after Derek Watts, the art director of original trilogy, and lamented the great potential of the project and what could’ve been achieved.
He said that he hasn’t seen a group so “right knit” and experienced like this in about 30 years
Full statement:
“It was a privilege to work alongside such a talented team, with the shared ambition of exploring new creative territories while staying true to the legacy and spirit of the Mass Effect trilogy.
Knowing that this work will never see the light of day is truly heartbreaking. We were good at this. We really were. I’m thinking about the team, the talent, what we could have achieved.
In nearly 30 years in this industry, I’ve rarely seen a group so tightly knit, so experienced, and so good at working together. And I feel extremely honored to have been part of it.”
It’s such a shame to see a project that took so long, releasing breadcrumbs of vague promos here and there with such great promise eventually end up being cancelled so soon after things really got going in such a promising way…

Romain Toutain revealed more about Mass Effect 5/Universe (this one really stings):
✨"The Shepard" was customizable and could do same moves in real combat as trailer
✨Everything in game was "stateful"
✨All choices from 1-3 taken into account
✨Called Universe so you could plug your saves together to create parallel universes (simplified explanation) but you could almost generate timelines similar to Zero Time
✨You could make decisions that might contradict things you've already done and so it would create plot "points" in the timeline
✨Missions didn't fail because you killed someone, paths would remain open (it worked well)
✨Absolute autonomy was the cornerstone of the game
✨No two players would experience the same thing, would have "experienced the same story but differently"
✨"EA never sells anything. they just shut things down and sit on their licenses"
✨Barman was a new race
✨Lore was incredible around new mass relays
✨"Billy" the hand thing might have generated tentacles
✨Was an idea for sharing your saves
✨He says it was fucking amazing
it was an absolute banger and we would have loved it. The people at BioWare were brilliant
FUCK
