Think about this –– teachers will need 180 hours to renew their teaching license so they can teach your kids, but only up to 24 hours of training to carry a gun around them.
That is insane.
Honors ELA II had a fun and successful field trip to the Old Worthington library this morning. Students engaged in a diversity audit of contemporary American books and selected choice books for their final projects. @TWHS_Cardinals @PeteScully1 #itsworthit

Seeing the huge waitlists on books people have been told not to read makes me realize we've been doing book displays all wrong. Instead of prominently visible "Staff Recommendations," just hide books in the corner in a box marked DON'T TOUCH, DANGEROUS and watch the circs soar.

On this first day of #SuicidePreventionWeek, we want to emphasize that school leaders and educators can be proactive in reducing stigma around mental health issues and helping students and colleagues build resilience. Consider these tools.

Let me be very clear: the scenes of chaos at the Capitol do not represent who we are. What we are seeing is a small number of extremists dedicated to lawlessness. This is not dissent, it's disorder. It borders on sedition, and it must end. Now.

Educators, cafeteria workers, bus drivers, custodians, and the nurses who keep our schools running are being stretched to their limit by this pandemic.

It’s long past time we pay teachers what they deserve.
The work they do is of extreme national importance — and their salaries should reflect that.

Today, I received the COVID-19 vaccine.
To the scientists and researchers who worked tirelessly to make this possible — thank you. We owe you an awful lot.
And to the American people — know there is nothing to worry about. When the vaccine is available, I urge you to take it.

I love the high fives, hugs, and shouts of "have a great break" on the last day before winter break. Even though we can't all be together, the staff at KMS still wanted to say...have a great break!

People are suffering. The moratorium on evictions is about to end. 12 million Americans will lose unemployment benefits if Congress and President Trump fail to come together before the end of the month.
It could not be more urgent that our leaders act.
